<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Ron Radecki, Director,
<br />Studebaker National Museum, 525 South Main Street, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, requested permission to close the portions of
<br />South Street and Lafayette Boulevard that border the
<br />Studebaker National Museum on Wednesday, June 29, 1994 from
<br />1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., in conjunction with the 12th Annual
<br />Interstate Batteries Great American Race.
<br />- TO CLOSE SUNNYMEDE AVENUE, FROM TWYCKENHAM DRIVE TO
<br />GREENLAWN STREET, FOR NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - JULY 3,
<br />1994
<br />Mr. Tom Wisniewski, 1620 Sunnymede Avenue, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, requested that the 1500-1700 blocks of Sunnymede
<br />Avenue, from Twyckenham to Greenlawn Streets, be closed from
<br />10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, 1994 for a
<br />neighborhood block party. The rain date for this block party
<br />is Monday, July 4, 1994.
<br />- TO CLOSE HAWTHORNE, FROM COLFAX TO WASHINGTON, FOR
<br />NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - AUGUST 20, 1994
<br />Mrs. Melissa DeClercq, 130 North Hawthorne Drive, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, submitted an Application For Use Of And Blocking Of
<br />Access To Public Right -of -Way For A Party Or Similar Events,
<br />r-questing that Hawthorne Drive, from Colfax to Washington,
<br />b closed on Saturday, August 20, 1994, from 3:00 p.m. to
<br />10:00 p.m. for the annual neighborhood block party.
<br />- FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE - 134 E. DUBAIL
<br />Mis. Turner, 134 East Dubail Street, requested that the
<br />parking space in front of her residence be designated a
<br />handicapped parking space. Ms. Turner noted that this space
<br />i needed so transportation can stop in front of her home to
<br />pick-up her son.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST OF ST. ADALBERT PARISH TO CONDUCT PROCESSION -
<br />JUNE 5 1994
<br />In a letter to the Board, Rev. Leonard F. Chrobot, Pastor, Saint
<br />Adalbe�t Parish, 2420 West Huron Street, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />advise that the people of St. Adalbert Parish will celebrate the
<br />Feast of Corpus Christi on Sunday, June 5, 1994 with a special
<br />Mass 4 11:00 a.m. followed by a procession around the block,
<br />which is Huron, Meade, Grace and Olive, to bless the neighborhood.
<br />Therefore, Rev. Chrobot requested the closing of Huron Street,
<br />between Olive and Meade, Meade Street, between Huron and Grace and
<br />Grace Street, between Meade and Olive from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45
<br />p.m. for the safety of the children. Mr. Leszczynski made a
<br />motion that this request be approved subject to favorable
<br />recommendations being received from the appropriate City
<br />departments and bureaus. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which
<br />carrie .
<br />APPROVE. REQUEST OF VIET NAM VETERANS TO CONDUCT MARCH - AUGUST 13
<br />1994
<br />Mr. Le zczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and
<br />bureau have reviewed the above referred to request which was
<br />submitted to the Board on May 16, 1994 and approval is
<br />recommended. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the
<br />recommendation be accepted and the request be approved. Mrs.
<br />Manierlseconded the motion which carried.
