-j 205 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 18 1994 <br />evaluations and assessments of neighborhood and <br />organizational needs; <br />2. Assisting organizations in development of revitalization <br />strategies and organization and business plans; <br />3. Training and technical assistance in neighborhood board <br />development, volunteer recruitment, and resource <br />development, and project/program development; <br />4. Developing partnerships with private and public sector <br />organizations to supply expertise in areas such as financial <br />and administrative management systems, legal assistance in <br />securing not -for -profit status for the neighborhood <br />organizations; and <br />5. Providing a program of neighborhood assistance grants for <br />the initiation or support of eligible CDGB activities. <br />The total cost of this activity shall not exceed $25,000.00 <br />YWCA <br />WOMEN'S CRISIS SHELTER ACTIVITY <br />The targeted goal for this activity is to provide shelter to five <br />hundred (500) women and their children. The total cost of this <br />activity shall not exceed $25,080.00. <br />SOUTH BEND HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION <br />FAIR HOUSING COUNSELING ACTIVITY <br />Activities under this activity shall include drafting and <br />investigation of housing complaints of discrimination filed with <br />the Human Rights Commission, formulation of proposed consent <br />agreements as a means of rectifying unlawful housing <br />discrimination and post -finding reviews with complainant and <br />respondent. The total cost of this activity shall not exceed <br />$13,000.00. <br />CANCO <br />CANCO S.W. SOCIAL SERVICE SUPPORT <br />The targeted goals for this activity are to provide six (6) <br />informational presentations to a total of one hundred twenty <br />(120) neighborhood residents, to provide eight hundred (800) <br />hours of counseling to one hundred (100) low and moderate income <br />neighborhood residents, to provide parenting sessions for eight <br />(8) TEEN parents (Teens Empowered through Education and Nurturing <br />Skills) and their families and to provide the "Nurturing Program <br />for Parents and Adolescents", to eight (8) neighborhood families <br />with six (6) follow-up monthly support group sessions. The total <br />cost of this activity shall not exceed $42,350.00. <br />APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR EASEMENT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement <br />for Easement between AAA Federal Credit Union and the City of South <br />Bend. <br />The Agreement indicates that the AAA Federal Credit Union is the <br />owner of property commonly referred to as 1112 North Bendix Drive. <br />The City is the owner of a certain dedicated alleyway which <br />transverses the credit union servient estate and the City desires to <br />acquire certain rights in the servient estate. Therefore, the <br />credit union grants to the C1't <br />of their Y an Easement on and across a portion <br />property. This Easement shall be used only for the purpose <br />of allowing users of the alley access across the portion of the <br />servient estate. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that this Easement <br />be approved. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried. <br />
