Mrs. <br />Manier seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUESTS: <br />OF AIDS MINISTRIES/AIDS ASSIST TO CONDUCT ANNUAL WALK - MAY <br />22, 1994 <br />OF OUR LADY OF HUNGARY CHURCH TO CLOSE CHAPIN STREET FROM <br />CALVERT TO BRUCE, IN CONJUNCTION WIT ANNUAL PARISH FESTIVAL - <br />JULY 16, 1994 <br />OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY MEMORIAL DAY SOCIETY TO CLOSE WASHINGTON <br />STREET IN CONJUNCTION WITH MEMORIAL DAY ACTIVITIES - MAY 30 <br />1994 <br />OF DISMAS OF MICHIANA TO CLOSE ST. JOSEPH STREET FROM MONROE <br />TO SOUTH STREET, FOR FUNDRAISING EVENT - MAY 12, 1994 <br />OF LA CASA DE AMISTAD TO CLOSE MICHIGAN STREET IN FRONT OF <br />THE MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM IN CONJUNCTION WITH FESTIVAL <br />THAT WILL BE TAKING PLACE ON THE MORRIS "GREEN" - AUGUST 20 <br />1994 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the above referred to requests, which <br />were submitted to the Board on March 21, 1994 and March 28, 1994, <br />have been reviewed by the appropriate City departments and bureaus <br />and approval is recommended. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a <br />motion that the recommendations be accepted and the requests be <br />approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - VACATION PETITION - 1ST E/W ALLEY N. OF <br />E. COLFAX AVENUE <br />Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Common Council has submitted to <br />the Board a Vacation Petition as signed by Ms. Bonita Raine, <br />United Health Services, 711 East Colfax Avenue, South Bend, <br />Indiana, and indicating Mr. William Lamie, Architecture Design <br />Group, 1539 North Irownood, South Bend, Indiana, as the Contact <br />Person, to vacate the following alley: <br />The first east/west alley north of east Colfax Avenue <br />from the east right-of-way line of the first north/south <br />alley west of north St. Peter to the west right-of-way <br />line of St. Peter for a distance of approximately 165 <br />feet and a width of approximately 14 feet. Alley <br />located in First Addition to Lowell in the City of South <br />Bend. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable <br />recommendations concerning this Vacation Petition from the Area <br />Plan Commission, Fire Department, Police Department and Division <br />of Engineering. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the <br />Board send a favorable recommendation to the Common Council <br />concerning this'Vacation Petition. Mrs. Manier seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell <br />and carried, the following one (1) traffic control device was <br />approved: <br />NEW INSTALLATION: <br />LOCATION: <br />REMARKS: <br />HANDICAP PARKING <br />1034 WEST BRYAN <br />Mr. John Popovits <br />the requirements <br />SPACE <br />has met all <br />APPROVE EXCAVATION BOND <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Division of Engineering, recommended that <br />the Board approve a Bond for Excavation in the Streets for Walsh & <br />
