J- 17 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 11, 1994 <br />fulfilled Resolution requirements to conduct the Annual Walk <br />American to be held on Saturday, April 23, 1994, and the <br />appropriate Agreement is being presented to the Board at this <br />time. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier <br />and carried, the Agreement was approved and executed. <br />It is noted that on February 14, 1994, the Board of Public Works <br />approved the date for this event subject to the sponsor meeting <br />all Resolution requirements. <br />APPROVE CERTIFICATE OF SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION - CONTROL, <br />INFORMATION, COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, PHASE I - WASTEWATER TREATMENT <br />PLANT <br />Submitted to the Board for consideration was a Certificate of <br />Substantial Completion for the Control, Information and <br />Communication System, Phase I - Wastewater Treatment Plant. It is <br />noted that the date of substantial completion for this project is <br />March 18, 1994. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that this <br />Certificate be approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />REQUEST OF MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, THE SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE AND WSBT <br />ST_A_TIONS TO CONDUCT ANNUAL SUNBURST MARATHON, 5K, 10K AND <br />TRIATHLON RACES - JUNE 4, 1994 - REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Mark Chambers, Memorial Health <br />Foundation, 615 North Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, <br />advised that the Sunburst sponsors, Memorial Hospital of South <br />Bend, The South Bend Tribune and WSBT Stations, are requesting <br />permission to conduct the Annual Sunburst Marathon, 5K, 10K and <br />triathlon races on Saturday, June 4, 1994. <br />Mr. Chambers noted that all the races will start on the campus of <br />the University of Notre Dame and finish in the University's <br />football stadium. The Marathon will begin at 6:00 a.m. and the <br />last participant is estimated to finish at approximately 12:00 <br />noon. The 5K and 10K events will start between 8:45 a.m. and 9:00 <br />a.m. and finish no later than 10:30 a.m. The triathlon will begin <br />at 10:00 a.m. and end at approximately 12:30 p.m. The Campus Fun <br />Walk will take place entirely on the Notre Dame Campus. <br />Mr. Chambers submitted with his request maps for the various <br />courses that will be utilized. The 10K and Marathon courses are <br />the same as used in previous years. <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that this request be referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS: <br />- NIMTZ PARKWAY LANDSCAPING <br />- LIGHT BULBS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. James Riggs, Airport 2010 Project <br />Manager, Department of Community and Economic Development, has <br />requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for the <br />Nimtz Parkway Landscaping Project. It is noted that work to be <br />performed shall include furnishing all labor, services, materials, <br />insurance and equipment to construct and maintain lawns, trees, <br />shrubs and an irrigating system along F. Jay Nimtz Parkway from <br />the U.S. 31 Bypass to Mayflower Road and along Mayflower Road from <br />F. Jay Nimtz Parkway to Old Cleveland Road. <br />Additionally, Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Division of <br />Equipment Services, requested that the Board advertise for the <br />receipt of bids for one hundred forty (140) items for lighting. <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
