1 141 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 21, 1994 <br />Department, Area Plan Commission, Division of Engineering and the <br />Department of Community and Economic Development. <br />Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the Board send a <br />favorable recommendation to the Common Council concerning this <br />Vacation Petition. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR USE OF PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR FOOT RACES <br />AND SIMILAR EVENTS - 1994 CROP WALK <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that pursuant to Resolution No. 9-1985, <br />establishing policies and fees for foot races and similar events, <br />adopted by the Board of Public Works on March 4, 1985, the United <br />Religious Community of St. Joseph County, has fulfilled Resolution <br />requirements to conduct the 1994 CROP Walk on Sunday, September <br />25, 1994, and the appropriate Agreement is being presented to the <br />Board at this time. It is noted that on February 14, 1994, the <br />Board of Public Works approved the date for this event subject to <br />the sponsor meeting all Resolution requirements. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and <br />carried, the Agreement was approved and executed. <br />APPROVE LEASE AGREEMENT - FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE LODGE NO. 36 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a Lease <br />Agreement between the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 36 and <br />the City of South Bend whereby the F.O.P. leases to the City the <br />property commonly known as 25327 State Road 23, South Bend, <br />Indiana, and the property at 1530 South Main Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, (formerly known as the Tepe's Building) from February 1, <br />1994 to and including January 31, 1995, for the sum of eight <br />thousand five hundred dollars ($8,500.00) payable no later than <br />February 28 during each year of the Lease. <br />It is noted that the property at 25327 State Road 23 shall be <br />limited to that portion of the Lodge property located on State <br />Road 23, generally known as the training grounds for the South <br />Bend Police and Fire Departments and shall not include the lodge <br />building, any other structures or other recreational facilities on <br />the property without the written consent of the F.O.P. <br />Additionally, the City shall have the right to use the property at <br />1530 South Main Street for police training only and this property <br />shall not be available for use by the City for the South Bend Fire <br />Department. <br />Mr. Caldwell made a motion that this Lease Agreement be approved <br />and executed. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BIDS - COLLEGE FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the Board is in receipt of a letter <br />from Mr. David A. Mankowski, Vice -President, Special Projects <br />Division, Verkler, Inc., 4406 Technology Drive, South Bend, <br />Indiana, indicating that they have reviewed the bids received by <br />the Board on January 6, 1994, and recommend that the Board award <br />the bid proposals, contingent on financing, to the following low <br />bidders: <br />BID PACKAGE # 02.20 <br />DESCRIPTION: BUILDING EARTHWORK AND SITEWORK <br />B & J EXCAVATING, INC. <br />1104 West Donald Street <br />South Bend, Indiana 46613 <br />BID: $185,000.00 <br />
