146 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />One (1) Motor Grader <br />Two (2) 3 wheel street sweepers <br />MARCH 21, 1994 <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that this is the first batch of vehicles for <br />which bids will be sought. Another list will be forthcoming. <br />Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that this request be <br />approved. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 - COMMUNICATION, INFORMATION AND <br />CONTROL PROJECT (WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT) <br />Mr. Jack J. Dillon, Director, Division of Environmental Services, <br />submitted to the Board Change Order No. 2 for the above referred <br />to project. Mr. Dillon noted that this Change Order reflects an <br />increase of $3,042.20 in the contract price for a new Contract <br />amount of $1,101,179.20. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that this <br />Change Order be approved. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />REQUESTS REFERRED: <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell <br />and carried, the following requests were referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation: <br />OF AIDS MINISTRIES/AIDS ASSIST OF NORTH INDIANA, TO CONDUCT <br />ANNUAL WALK - MAY 22, 1994 <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Michael Beatty, Executive <br />Director, AIDS Ministries/AIDS Assist of North Indiana, P.O. <br />Box 11582, South Bend, Indiana, advised that they are happy <br />to be participating in the 11th International AIDS <br />Candlelight Memorial and Mobilization again this year. The <br />Candlelight Memorial is the world's largest coordinated AIDS <br />event. Observance of the event honors the memory of those <br />who have died of AIDS and demonstrates support for the <br />people living with AIDS. There will be over 150 cities in <br />over 60 countries around the world coming together in a <br />spirit of hope that one day this pandemic will be over. <br />Therefore, the AIDS Ministries/AIDS Assist of North Indiana, <br />will be holding a service at St. Joseph Catholic Church on <br />May 22, 1994, at 3:30 p.m. and a Walk will start at 4:30 <br />from the church to James Seitz Park. Mr. Beatty is asking <br />for permission to conduct this Walk utilizing the sidewalks <br />as outlined on the route submitted with the request. <br />OF OUR LADY OF HUNGARY CHURCH TO CLOSE SOUTH CHAPIN STREET, <br />BETWEEN W. CALVERT STREET AND BRUCE STREET, IN CONJUNCTION <br />WITH ANNUAL CHURCH FESTIVAL - JULY 16, 1994 <br />Mr. Richard Gratzol, Festival Coordinator, Our Lady of <br />Hungary Church, 829 West Calvert Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, advised that the church is raving their annual <br />parish festival on July 16, 1994. In conjunction with this <br />event, they are requesting permission to close one block of <br />South Chapin Street, between West Calvert Street and -Bruce <br />Street. This is to insure the safety of the festival <br />participants. It is requested that the street be closed <br />from 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. <br />APPROVE APPLICATION FOR PERMIT - SPECIALIZED COLLECTION SER%-ICES <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that pursuant to the terms of the tras_= <br />and rubbish removal ordinance, the Board is in receipt of a Permit <br />application from the following private trash hauler who desires to <br />continue his business within the City: <br />1.
