123 <br />L <br />1 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 7, 1994 <br />disabled. Mr. Adamson asked that the parking space in front <br />of his residence be designated as a handicapped parking <br />space. <br />- FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE AT 1025 W. <br />WASHINGTON <br />Ms. Doris Floyd, on behalf of her mother, Mrs. Betty Gunn, <br />1025 West Washington, South Bend, Indiana, requested that the <br />parking space in front of her residence be designated as a <br />handicapped parking space. Ms. Floyd noted that her mother <br />is ninety-one (91) years old and has a severe arthritic <br />condition. <br />FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE AT 457 S. HARRIS <br />Mr. William Allen, 457 South Harris, South Bend, Indiana, <br />requested that the parking space in front of his home be <br />designated as a handicapped parking space. Mr. Allen advised <br />that he is disabled. <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Brad Dennis, Manager, Masonry <br />Restoration Division, Ziolkowski Construction, Inc., 1005 <br />South Lafayette Boulevard, P.O. Box 1106, South Bend, <br />Indiana, advised that they will be working on the east <br />elevation of the Ivy Tower Building at 635 South Lafayette <br />Boulevard. <br />In conjunction with this project, it is requested that the <br />sidewalk be closed from the north of the train bridge to the <br />fence south of the building for approximately one hundred <br />twenty (120) days. Mr. Dennis noted that the main entrance <br />of the building will have a walk thru canopy built of 21x4's <br />and plywood. The overhead door area will not be used during <br />occupancy without permission from Ziolkowski Construction, <br />Inc. <br />OF LAZYBOY SHOWCASE SHOPPE TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT-OF- <br />WAY - 301 SOUTH MAIN STREET <br />Mr. Thomas M. Walz, President, Relaxation, Inc., d/b/a La-Z- <br />Boy Furniture Galleries, 211 West LaSalle, South Bend, <br />Indiana, requested permission to encroach on the public <br />right-of-way to the north of West LaSalle Avenue for the <br />entire south elevation of their building with houses the La- <br />Z-Boy Furniture Galleries retail store. <br />Mr. Walz noted that there currently is an existing <br />encroachment over the property line and they are now asking <br />for a total encroachment of seven inches (711) after their <br />renovation project is complete. Mr. Walz submitted with his <br />request a diagram of the encroachment. <br />APPROVE RUBBISH AND GARBAGE REMOVAL LICENSE APPLICATIONS <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the following two (2) Rubbish and <br />Garbage Removal Service license applications have been received: <br />1.
