-104 REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 28, 1994 The regular meeting of the Board -of Public Works was convened at 9:33 a.m. on Monday, February 28, 1994, by Board President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. Caldwell and Mrs. Jenny Pitts Manier present. Also present was Assistant City Attorney Anne Bruneel. AGENDA ITEM ADDED Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, a request from Habitat for Humanity was added to the agenda. APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held on February 21, 1994, were approved. OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF THREE (3) TRASHER PACKER UNITS Mr. Leszczynski noted that this was the date set for the sale of the three (3) trasher packer units which the Board declared obsolete on January 17, 1994, pursuant to Resolution No. 2-1994. The following bid was opened and read: TRUCKS & PARTS OF TAMPA, INC. 1015 South 50th Street Tampa, Florida 33619 Bid was submitted by Mr. Bruce Goldenberg. BID: Unit 4562 $ 7,100.00 Unit #572 $13,100.00 Third Unit: $ 9,100.00 TOTAL BID FOR THREE (3) TRUCKS: $29,300.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the bid was referred to the Division of Equipment Services for review and recommendation. APPROVE REIMBURSEMENT AGREEMENT FOR SEWER CONSTRUCTION Mr. Leszczynski informed members that the Board is in receipt of a Reimbursement Agreement for Sewer Construction between the City and St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Agreement indicates that at the City's request, the Church constructed a sewer with a twelve inch (1211) pipe when the use of eight inch (811) pipe would have been adequate for their purposes. The Agreement further indicates that the Church incurred an additional cost of $2,150.00 for upgrading the sewer construction from eight inch (8") to twelve inch (12") pipe. Therefore, pursuant to this Agreement, the City shall reimburse the Church $2,150.00 which is the amount of additional cost incurred in upgrading the sewer at the City's request. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that this Agreement be approved and executed. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE REQUESTS TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS: - ONE 35000 G.V.W. CREW CAB CHASSIS AND REMOUNT OF CURRENT RESCUE BODY ON THE NEW CHASSIS - CHLORINE AND SULFUR DIOXIDE - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Luther Taylor requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for one (1) 35000 G.V.W. crew cab chassis and to remount the current rescue body on the new chassis. Chief Taylor noted that the present rescue chassis is a 1988 and is beginning to experience mechanical problems. This 1
