REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 6, 1995 <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER - MICHIGAN STREET/IRELAND ROAD INTERSECTION <br />UPGRADE - PROJECT NO. 95-79 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Toy Villa, Contract Engineer, has submitted Change Order No. <br />1, on behalf of Rieth-Riley Construction, Inc., 25200 State Road 23, South Bend, Indiana indicating <br />that the Contract amount be decreased $8,796.56 for a new Contract sum including this Change <br />Order in the amount of $35,903.44. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. <br />Manier and carried, the Change Order was approved. <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO 1 (FINAL) AND PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT - <br />F.J. NIMTZ PARKWAY - PHASE III - PROJECT NO 94-46 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Toy Villa, Contract Engineer, has submitted Change Order No. <br />1 (Final) indicating that the contract amount be increased by $25,269.00 for a new contract sum <br />including this Change Order in the amount of $728,261.23. Additionally submitted was the Project <br />Completion Affidavit indicating this new final cost. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, <br />seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, Change Order No. 1 (Final) and the Project Completion <br />Affidavit were approved subject to the filing of the appropriate three-year Maintenance Bond. <br />APPROVAL OF 1996 HOLIDAY SCHEDULE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the following 1996 <br />Holiday Schedule was approved: <br />New Year's Day <br />Monday <br />January 1, 1996 <br />Good Friday <br />Friday <br />April 5, 1996 <br />Memorial Day <br />Monday <br />May 27, 1996 <br />Independence Day <br />Thursday <br />July 4, 1996 <br />Labor Day <br />Monday <br />September 2, 1996 <br />Veteran's Day <br />Monday <br />November 11, 1996 <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Thursday <br />November 28, 1996 <br />Day after Thanksgiving <br />Friday <br />November 29, 1996 <br />Christmas Day <br />Wednesday <br />December 25, 1996 <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the above referred to 1996 Holiday Schedule is for all City employees, <br />with the exception of the sworn Police and Fire personnel. <br />In addition to the nine (9) designated holidays above, employees may choose one (1) additional <br />holiday from the holidays as listed below: <br />Martin Luther King Day <br />Monday <br />January 15, 1996 <br />President's Day <br />Monday <br />February 19, 1996 <br />Columbus Day <br />Monday <br />October 14, 1996 <br />Employee's Birthday <br />Day after Fourth of July <br />Friday <br />July 5, 1996 <br />APPROVE CONSENT TO ANNEXATION AND WAIVER OF RIGHTS TO REMONSTRATE <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Board is in receipt of a Consent to Annexation and Waiver of Right <br />to Remonstrate as submitted by James and Edyth Robinson. The Consent indicates that in <br />consideration for permission to tap into the public water system of the City, to provide water service <br />to 17201 Hagey Street, South Bend, Indiana, (Key # 02-2061-2629), the Robinson's waive and <br />release any and all right to remonstrate against or oppose any pending or future annexation of the <br />property by the City of South Bend. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the Consent <br />be approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />1 <br />
