<br />AWARD QUOTATION - IRELAND/NIICHIGAN STREETS ASPHALT PAVING - PROJECT
<br />NO. 95-79
<br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, advised the Board that on October 23, 1995,
<br />quotations were received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those
<br />quotations, Mr. Littrell recommends that the Board award the contract to Walsh & Kelly, Inc.,
<br />24358 State Road 23, South Bend, Indiana in the amount of $27,285.00. Therefore, Mrs. Manier
<br />made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the quotation be awarded as outlined
<br />above. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - SOUTHEAST PARTNERSHIP CENTER SERVICE
<br />AREA - SIDEWALK, CURB AND APPROACH REPAIRS - PROJECT NO 95-11
<br />Mr. Leszczynski, advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on October 9, 1995, to Walsh &
<br />Kelly, Inc., 24358 State Road 23, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $69,887.00 for the above
<br />referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the Contract was approved
<br />and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment
<br />Bond as submitted were filed.
<br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - NEW IRRIGATION SYSTEM - ELBEL GOLF
<br />COURSE - PROJECT NO. 95-16
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on October 16, 1995, to Wissco
<br />Irrigation, Inc., 1820 South Bend Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $583,000.00 for
<br />the above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the Contract was
<br />approved and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials
<br />Payment Bond as submitted were filed.
<br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT - UTILITY AGREEMENT - OLD DARDEN ROAD BRIDGE
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend
<br />and the Board of Commissioners of St. Joseph County, Indiana, for sanitary sewers, services and
<br />appurtenances located within the project limits of the Old Darden Road Bridge in St. Joseph County,
<br />to be located on the bridge or within the adjacent right-of-way in accordance to the drawings as
<br />submitted. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried,
<br />the Agreement was approved and executed.
<br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT - SOUTIEAST REDEVELOPMENT AREA - STORM SEWER
<br />SURVEY AND PLANNING - PROJECT NO 95-93
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend
<br />and Cole Associates, 2211 East Jefferson, South Bend, Indiana, for services to design a parkway -
<br />type roadway, including storm drainage within the project limits. This roadway will separate and
<br />provide access to the Parkview Juvenile Center, under construction, and the new Ivy Tech site, now
<br />being designed. This design will be coordinated with the master infrastructure plan, also being
<br />developed by Cole Associates. Mr. Leszczynski noted that the Agreement is in the amount of
<br />$84,292.00 if all the enumerated services are found to be necessary to complete the study and
<br />design(s). Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried,
<br />the Agreement was approved and executed.
<br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT - SOUTHEAST REDEVELOPMENT AREA - FIELD SURVEY
<br />INFRASTRUCTURE AND MASTER PLAN STUDY - ROADWAY AND STORM SEWER
<br />DESIGN - PROJECT NO. 95-93
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend
<br />and Cole Associates, 2211 East Jefferson, South Bend, Indiana, for services to study and design a
<br />storm water management system for the Southeast Redevelopment Area. Further, this study will
<br />determine the feasibility of storm sewer separation, re -use and/or replacement of existing combined
<br />sewers as storm or sanitary sewers, and design those facilities including roadway replacements as
<br />the study may show to be necessary for the trunk lines. The area being studied is from Michigan
<br />Street to High Street, Sample Street to Broadway. Mr. Leszczynski noted that the Agreement is in
