REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 5. 1995 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:35 a.m. on Tuesday, <br />September 5, 1995, by Board President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. <br />Caldwell and Mrs. Jenny Pitts Manier present. Also present was Board Attorney Anne Bruneel. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the minutes of the <br />regular meeting of the Board held on August 28, 1995, were approved. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - LICENSE APPLICATION FOR TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - <br />HEIRLOOM IMAGES <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning a <br />License Application for Transient Merchant, as submitted by Mr. Roger L. Smith, 8863 East Black <br />Point Road, Syracuse, Indiana, to conduct a camera and computer swap meet at Century Center, On <br />Sunday, September 17, 1995, from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable <br />recommendations have been received by the Police Department, Fire Department and the Building <br />Commissioner. Mr. Roger Smith was present, and recommended approval by the Board. There <br />being no one else present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public Hearing <br />was closed. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the License Application for Transient Merchant License was approved. <br />OPENING OF QUOTATIONS - CONCRETE CURB INSTALLATION AND APPURTENANCES <br />- MICHIGAN STREET AND IRELAND ROAD INTERSECTION - PROJECT NO. 95-79 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed Quotations <br />for the above referred to project. The following Quotations were opened and read: <br />PHEND & BROWN, INC. <br />Post Office Box 218 <br />Milford, Indiana 46542 <br />Quotation was submitted by Mr. Daniel F. Brown, President <br />QUOTATION: $62,537.50 <br />WALSH & KELLY. INC. <br />24358 State Road 23 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46614 <br />Quotation was submitted by Mr. James R. Walsh, Sales Manager <br />QUOTATION: $45,275.00 <br />L.L. GEANS & SONS. INC. <br />1923 North Home Street <br />Mishawaka, Indiana 46545 <br />Quotation was submitted by Mr. Rocky Geans, President <br />QUOTATION: $47,109.50 <br />RIETH-RILEY CONSTRUCTION CO.,INC <br />Post Office Box 1775 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46634 <br />Quotation was submitted by Mr. John Szuba, Sales Manager <br />QUOTATION: $44,700.00 <br />
