4- 0 <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 14. 1995 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:34 on Monday, August 14, <br />1995, by Board President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. Caldwell and <br />Mrs. Jenny Pitts Manier present. Also present was Board Attorney Anne Bruneel. <br />ADD AGENDA ITEMS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, Agenda items for <br />an Agreement and a Final Change Order and Project Completion Affidavit were added. <br />AGENDA ITEMS STRICKEN <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Mr. Leszczynski and carried, Agenda items <br />for a Certificate of Insurance and Award of Bid for College Football Hall of Fame Furniture were <br />stricken from the Agenda. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the minutes of the <br />regular meeting of the Board held on August 7, 1995, were approved. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - FIESTA MICHIANA - LA CASA <br />DE AMISTAD <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning a <br />request for a Transient Merchant License, as submitted by Mr. Chris Nanni, La Casa De Amistad, <br />746 South Meade Street, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct Fiesta Michiana, on Saturday, August 19, <br />1995, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., in front of the Morris Civic Auditorium, South Bend, Indiana. <br />Mr. Nanni was present and stated that this is the second annual Fiesta, and will include arts and <br />crafts, music, food and beverages. <br />There being no one else present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public <br />Hearing was closed. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and <br />carried, the request for a Transient Merchant License was approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - NEW IRRIGATION SYSTEM FOR STUDEBAKER GOLF COURSE AND <br />IRRIGATION EQUIPMENT UPGRADE FOR ERSKINE GOLF COURSE - PROJECT NO 95 14 <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />WI S S CO IRRIGATION. INC <br />1820 South Bend Avenue <br />South Bend, Indiana 46637 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Bryan Wynen, Vice President <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />BID: <br />Lump Sum: $116,445.00 <br />Studebaker Golf Course <br />Lump Sum: $192,885.00 <br />Erskine Golf Course <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above bid was <br />referred to the Division of Engineering for review and recommendation. <br />
