4- 0 REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 14. 1995 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:34 on Monday, August 14, 1995, by Board President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. Caldwell and Mrs. Jenny Pitts Manier present. Also present was Board Attorney Anne Bruneel. ADD AGENDA ITEMS Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, Agenda items for an Agreement and a Final Change Order and Project Completion Affidavit were added. AGENDA ITEMS STRICKEN Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Mr. Leszczynski and carried, Agenda items for a Certificate of Insurance and Award of Bid for College Football Hall of Fame Furniture were stricken from the Agenda. APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held on August 7, 1995, were approved. PUBLIC HEARING - TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - FIESTA MICHIANA - LA CASA DE AMISTAD Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning a request for a Transient Merchant License, as submitted by Mr. Chris Nanni, La Casa De Amistad, 746 South Meade Street, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct Fiesta Michiana, on Saturday, August 19, 1995, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., in front of the Morris Civic Auditorium, South Bend, Indiana. Mr. Nanni was present and stated that this is the second annual Fiesta, and will include arts and crafts, music, food and beverages. There being no one else present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public Hearing was closed. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the request for a Transient Merchant License was approved. OPENING OF BIDS - NEW IRRIGATION SYSTEM FOR STUDEBAKER GOLF COURSE AND IRRIGATION EQUIPMENT UPGRADE FOR ERSKINE GOLF COURSE - PROJECT NO 95 14 This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: WI S S CO IRRIGATION. INC 1820 South Bend Avenue South Bend, Indiana 46637 Bid was signed by Mr. Bryan Wynen, Vice President Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted BID: Lump Sum: $116,445.00 Studebaker Golf Course Lump Sum: $192,885.00 Erskine Golf Course Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above bid was referred to the Division of Engineering for review and recommendation.
