REGULAR MEETING JUNE 26. 1995 <br />- TO CONDUCT A SIDEWALK SALE <br />Eduardo's Natural Pizza Restaurant, 235 South Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, submitted an <br />Application for Sidewalk Sale Permit, requesting permission to conduct the sale of pizza and pop <br />in front of 235 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, on Friday, June 30, 1995, Saturday, July <br />1, 1995 and Sunday, July 2, 1995, in conjunction with the Ethnic Festival. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE SALE OF EQUIPMENT <br />In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Luther Taylor requested permission to advertise the following <br />vehicles for sale: <br />One (1) 1985 Pierce Midi Pumper Model FA-CM-1000-501 GMC Top Kick <br />VIN #1GDM7DIYXGV506307 <br />One (1) 1968 American LaFrance Pumper, Serial #1211059 <br />Chief Taylor noted that these vehicles were declared obsolete by the Board of Public <br />Works'Resolution No. 30-1993, dated August 23, 1993. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, <br />seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the request to advertise for the sale of equipment was <br />approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, P.E., Director, Divison of Engineering, <br />requested permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the Near Northwest Partnership Center <br />Service Area curb, sidewalk and approach repairs, Phase II. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVE EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following <br />Excavation Bonds be approved as follows: <br />L. E. Myers Co. Approved Effective June 26, 1995 <br />Louis Seago & Sons, Inc. Approved Effective June 19, 1995 <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bonds be <br />approved and/or released as outlined above. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF HUMANE SOCIETY MONTHLY REPORTS - MARCH/APRIL <br />Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Board is in receipt of the monthly reports as submitted by the <br />Humane Society of St. Joseph County, Inc., for the months of March and April. These reports <br />indicate the type and number of animals handled for the City of South Bend. Mr. Leszczynski made <br />a motion that the reports be accepted for filing as submitted. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the following <br />Certificate of Insurance was accepted for filing: <br />St. Joseph County Airport Authority <br />4477 Terminal Drive <br />South Bend, Indiana 46628 <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that a Certificate of Appreciation has been presented to the Board of Public <br />Works, as submitted by Ms. Pat Barham, Coordinator, Southeast Partnership Center, 626 East <br />Broadway, South Bend, Indiana, expressing their sincerest thanks for the Board's participation in <br />their Agency Fair and Neighborhood Picnic. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the Certificate of Appreciation was filed. <br />1 <br />
