<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER - SOUTH BEND DAM, CANOE PORTAGE AND PARK
<br />REPAIRS - PROJECT NO.94-67
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Tim Garnette, Commercial Division Service, Post Office Box
<br />360568, Columbus, Ohio, has submitted Change Order No. 1 for the above referred to project,
<br />indicating that the Contract amount be increased $13,822.80 for a new Contract sum including this
<br />Change Order in the amount of $298,318.80. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded
<br />by Mrs. Manier and carried, the Change Order was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - LICENSE APPLICATION FOR OPEN-AIR BUSINESS
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the recommendation
<br />for theLicense Application for an Open Air Business was tabled.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - RENEWAL OF LICENSE APPLICATION - RUBBISH
<br />AND GARBAGE REMOVAL SERVICE
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Building
<br />Department, Code Enforcement, and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as
<br />submitted by Mr. Stephen G. Smith, 409 E. Fairview, South Bend, Indiana, for a Renewal of License
<br />Application for Rubbish and Garbage Removal Service, at 409 E. Fairview, South Bend, Indiana.
<br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the Bureau of Sanitation has inspected the vehicles. Upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the License Application was
<br />approved, and forwarded to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance of a license.

<br />Application for Rubbish and Garbage Removal Service, at 750 North Olive, South Bend, Indiana.
<br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the Bureau of Sanitation has inspected the vehicles. Upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the License Application was
<br />approved, and forwarded to the Deputy Controller's office for issuance of a license.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Code Enforcement, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to
<br />a request as submitted by Ms. Lillian Bogart, 924 N. Allen, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the
<br />above referred to block party for Crime Prevention, on Saturday, June 24, 1995, from 12:00 p.m.
<br />until 3:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried,
<br />the request was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TEMPORARY ALLEY CLOSING FOR AUCTION
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Police
<br />Department, City Attorney's Office and the Division of Engineering, in reference to the request as
<br />submitted by Ms. Sue Konya -Bolin, Sue's Auction Service, to temporarily close the alley in the 400
<br />block of South Carlisle street, on Saturday, June 24, from 6:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., to conduct an
<br />auction. Upon a motion made by Ms. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
<br />REQUEST DENIED - PURCHASE OF CITY -OWNED LOTS - 530 AND 534 EAST
<br />BROADWAY
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that an unfavorable recommendation has been received by the Department
<br />of Community and Economic Development, in reference to a request as submitted by Mrs. Lue
<br />Jarett, Broadway Street, South Bend, Indiana, to purchase two (2) City -owned lots at 530 and 534
<br />East Broadway. Mr. Larry Magliozzi, stated that these two (2) properties should be retained by the
<br />City until such time that a builder is interested in constructing a single-family residence, which the
<br />Southeast Plan encourages development of vacant property. Further, the staff would note that Mrs.
<br />Jarrett is currently using a privately owned lot off of Rush Street to access her property, and there
<br />is an open alley behind her house which is available to her. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs.
