<br />REGULAR MEETING MAY 22. 1995
<br />concerning these Vacation Petitions. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried.
<br />REQUESTS REFERRED:
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the following
<br />requests were referred to the appropriate Bureaus and Departments for review and recommendation:
<br />- TO CLOSE STREET - OUR LADY OF HUNGARY PARISH FESTIVAL
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Richard R. Gratzol, Our Lady of Hungary Church, 829 West Calvert,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to close one block of South Chapin Street, between West
<br />Calvert Street and Bruce Street, to conduct their annual parish Festival, on Saturday, July 15, 1995,
<br />from 3:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m.
<br />- TO CLOSE VARIOUS STREETS - ETHNIC FESTIVAL
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Jon Williams, Events Supervisor, Office of Community Affairs,
<br />requested permission to hold the 1995 South Bend Ethnic Festival on June 30, 1995, from 3:00 p.m.
<br />until 8:00 p.m.; July 1, 1995, from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and July 2, 1995, from 11:00 a.m.
<br />until 7:00 p.m., in downtown South Bend and in Howard Park, on the streets as submitted.
<br />- APPROVAL OF PERMIT TO MOVE A HOME
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Don Fozo, Building Commissioner, requested approval for a
<br />moving permit to Lykowski Construction, to move ahome from 516 Pennsylvania to the southeast
<br />corner of Pennsylvania and Rush Street for the South Bend Heritage Founcation, on May 31, 1995.
<br />Mr. Fozo stated that the required releases from utility companies, the Division of Engineering, and
<br />Police Department, as well as the appropriate insurance certificate have been received. Therefore,
<br />upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the request was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVE AND/OR RELEASE CONTRACTOR BONDS
<br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following
<br />Contractors Bonds be approved and/or released as follows:
<br />BOND OF CONTRACTOR

<br />Guadalupe Gonzales - Lara
<br />R & E Construction Corporation
<br />Approved Effective May 22, 1995
<br />Released Effective May 22, 1995

<br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bonds be
<br />approved and/or released as outlined above. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried.
<br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the following
<br />Certificate of Insurance was accepted for filing:

<br />APPROVE CLAIMS
<br />Mr. Kevin Horton, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $923,231.63 and
<br />recommended approval. Additionally, Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive Director, WDS of Northern
<br />Indiana, submitted one (1) list containing claims in the amount of $89,367.81and recommended
<br />approval. Ms. Ann Kolata, Department of Community and Economic Development, submitted
<br />claims for the College Football Hall of Fame and recommended approval. Mr. Caldwell made a
<br />motion that the claims be approved and the reports as submitted be filed. Mrs. Manier seconded the
<br />motion which carried.
