<br />Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be
<br />awarded as outlined above. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO ENCROACH INTO PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Building Department, Redevelopment Design Review Committee and the City
<br />Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Kenneth Fedder, South Bend
<br />Discount Liquor, 3227 West Sample Street, South Bend, Indiana, to allow a portion of an existing
<br />sign to extend into the public right-of-way. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,
<br />seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO PLACE A 30-YARD DUMPSTER IN PUBLIC
<br />RIGHT-OF-WAY
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Building Department, Redevelopment Design Review Committee, Police Department
<br />and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Don Berta, Gibson -
<br />Lewis, Post Office Box 488, Mishawaka, Indiana, to place a 30 yard dumpster in the parking lane
<br />of Navarre Street. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier
<br />and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT A BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Code Enforcement, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to
<br />a request as submitted by Ms. Donna Burton, 1627 Franklin, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the
<br />above referred to block parry, on Sunday, June 11, 1995, from 6:30 p.m. until 12:30 p.m. Therefore,
<br />upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the recommendation
<br />was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - ANNUAL SUNBURST 5K. IOK. AND FUN WALK
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Code Enforcement, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to
<br />a request as submitted by Mr. Mark Chambers, 615 North Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana to
<br />conduct the above referred to 5K, 1 OK, and Fun Walk, on Saturday, June 10, 1995, on the designated
<br />route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried,
<br />the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO REJECT BIDS - SIGNAGE - COLLEGE FOOTBALL HALL OF
<br />FAME
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Mikki Dobski, Project Manager, College Football Hall of Fame,
<br />requested permission to reject all bids received for the above referred to project. Ms. Dobski stated
<br />that the bids were open on April 24, 1995, and that all bids exceeded the Designer's estimates.
<br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the
<br />request to reject bids for the above referred to project was approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - CHAPIN STREET
<br />REDEVELOPMENT AREA - PROJECT NO. 95-23
<br />Mr. Carl Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, requested permission to advertise for the receipt
<br />of bids for the Chapin Street Redevelopment Area Site Clearance at 202 South Chapin and 239-241
<br />South Chapin. Mr. Littrell stated that this project will clear two (2) lots of substandard buildings
<br />in the Chapin Street Redevelopment Area. Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the request
<br />be approved. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried.
