126 <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 20, 1995 <br />REQUESTS REFERRED: <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the following <br />requests were referred to the appropriate Bureaus and Departments for review and recommendation: <br />- TO CONDUCT MARCH FOR JESUS <br />Ms. Lynne Davis submitted a request permission to conduct "March for Jesus" on Saturday, May <br />27, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. <br />- TO CONDUCT "THE WORLD'S LARGEST GARAGE SALE" <br />Ms. Rebecca Jasinski, Events Coordinator, Community Affairs, submitted a request for permission <br />to conduct "The World's Largest Garage Sale", on Saturday, June 3, 1995, in the Municipal Parking <br />garage located on the corner of Wayne and St. Joseph Streets, from 5:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. In <br />addition, Community Affairs will be using the garage Friday, June 2, after 6:00 p.m. for pre-set up <br />from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. <br />- TO CONDUCT POPPY DAY SALE <br />Mr. George Grenert, Veterans of Foreign Wars, South Bend Post No. 1167, 1047 Lincolnway East, <br />South Bend, Indiana, submitted a request for permission to conduct their annual Poppy Day Sale, <br />on Friday and Saturday, May 19 and 20th, 1995, for the purpose of securing funds for welfare and <br />relief work among widows and orphans of veterans. <br />- TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY <br />Mr. Gary Peterson, Post Office Box 309, North Liberty, Indiana, submitted a request to purchase <br />a City -owned lot next to 533 E. Haney, Key no 18-7014-0569. Mr. Peterson stated that he would <br />like to install a drive and garage, and that he also has been mowing this lot. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the following two <br />(2) traffic control devices were approved: <br />REMOVAL OF: <br />Handicap Sign <br />LOCATION: <br />741 South Lake <br />REMARKS: <br />Sign not needed <br />INSTALLATION: Handicap Sign <br />LOCATION: 3519 W. Dunham <br />REMARKS: Mr. O'Donnell has met all requirements <br />APPROVE RELEASE OF EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following <br />Excavation Bonds be released as follows: <br />AT&T Communications Released Effective March 20, 1995 Bond 8124-48-47 <br />AT&T Communications Released Effective March 20, 1995 Bond 8124-48-48 <br />Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bonds be release <br />as outlined above. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the following <br />Certificate of Insurance was accepted for filing: <br />Hayes Boiler <br />2160 N. Ashland <br />Chicago, Illinois 60614 <br />
