REGULAR MEETING MARCH 6, 1995 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend that the items listed above are no longer needed by the City; are unfit for the purpose for which they were intended and have an estimated value of less than five thousand dollars ($5,000.00). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said equipment may be transferred or sold at public auction or private sale, without advertising. However, if the property is deemed worthless, such may be demolished or junked. ADOPTED this 6th day of March, 1995. BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA s/John E. Jacob, Clerk ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 11-1995 - TRANSFER OF REAL PROPERTY TO HABITAT FOR HUMANITY Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the following Resolution was adopted by the Board: RESOLUTION NO. 11-1995 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF CERTAIN PARCELS OF REAL PROPERTY TO HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, INDIANA WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Indiana (hereinafter the "City"), is the owner of two (2) parcels of real property situated in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana, and being more particularly described as follows: Key No. 18-5099-3497 Lot 97 Hartman & Millers Add Commonly known as 1054 Burns Avenue; and Key No. 18-5099-3493 Lot 98 Hartman & Millers Add Commonly known as 1056 Burns Avenue; and WHEREAS, the care, custody and control of City -owned real estate is vested in the Board of Public Works pursuant to I.C. 36-9-6-3 and 36-1-11-1, et seq.; and WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County, Indiana (hereinafter "Habitat"), an Indiana not -for -profit corporation meeting the requirements of I.C. 36-1-11-I(a)(7), desires to obtain ownership of the above -described real estate for the purpose of constructing a single-family home on each of these properties, which will provide a home ownership opportunity for low-income individuals in the community; and WHEREAS, the use of said properties for such purposes will be beneficial to the community, and the City is willing to transfer said properties to Habitat for the construction of said single-family homes.
