REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 27. 1995 APPROVE RECOMMENDATIONS - LICENSE APPLICATIONS FOR RUBBISH AND GARBAGE REMOVAL SERVICES - RENEWALS Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following six (6) Rubbish and Garbage Removal Service license applications have been received: Jessie Love 309 S. Iowa Street South Bend, Indiana Leroy Gorden 218 North Sadie South Bend, Indiana Willie Alsander, Sr. 3719 West Jefferson South Bend, Indiana Charles Hague, II 1323 East Dayton South Bend, Indiana Sylvester Mullins 115 Cherry Street South Bend, Indiana Eddie Ivory 1302 W. Linden Avenue South Bend, Indiana It was noted that inspections of the trucks to be used have been conducted by the Bureau ofSolid Waste and the applicants were found to be in compliance. Additionally, the Department of Code Enforcement has reviewed these applications and recommends approval. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the applications were approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY - TWO LOTS BETWEEN 204 AND 214 EAST BROADWAY Mr. Leszczynski noted that favorable recommendations have been received by the Department of Engineering, Code Enforcement, Department of Community and Economic Development and the Park Department, in reference to a request to purchase two City -owned lots between 204 and 214 East Broadway. Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried the request was approved, contingent upon approval by the Mayor. DENIAL OF REQUEST - DONATION OF VACANT LOT TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND - 819 SOUTH ARNOLD Mr. Leszczynski noted that unfavorable recommendations have been received from the Department of Public Works, Department of Community and Economic Development and the Park Department, in reference to the donation of a vacant lot from a homeowner to the City of South Bend. These departments have stated that this property would be of no use to the City. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the request to donate 819 S. Arnold to the City of South Bend was denied.
