REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 27. 1995 <br />APPROVE RECOMMENDATIONS - LICENSE APPLICATIONS FOR RUBBISH AND <br />GARBAGE REMOVAL SERVICES - RENEWALS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the following six (6) Rubbish and Garbage Removal Service license <br />applications have been received: <br />Jessie Love <br />309 S. Iowa Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Leroy Gorden <br />218 North Sadie <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Willie Alsander, Sr. <br />3719 West Jefferson <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Charles Hague, II <br />1323 East Dayton <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Sylvester Mullins <br />115 Cherry Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Eddie Ivory <br />1302 W. Linden Avenue <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />It was noted that inspections of the trucks to be used have been conducted by the Bureau ofSolid <br />Waste and the applicants were found to be in compliance. Additionally, the Department of Code <br />Enforcement has reviewed these applications and recommends approval. Therefore, upon a motion <br />made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the applications were approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED <br />PROPERTY - TWO LOTS BETWEEN 204 AND 214 EAST BROADWAY <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that favorable recommendations have been received by the Department of <br />Engineering, Code Enforcement, Department of Community and Economic Development and the <br />Park Department, in reference to a request to purchase two City -owned lots between 204 and 214 <br />East Broadway. Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried the <br />request was approved, contingent upon approval by the Mayor. <br />DENIAL OF REQUEST - DONATION OF VACANT LOT TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND - <br />819 SOUTH ARNOLD <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that unfavorable recommendations have been received from the Department <br />of Public Works, Department of Community and Economic Development and the Park Department, <br />in reference to the donation of a vacant lot from a homeowner to the City of South Bend. These <br />departments have stated that this property would be of no use to the City. Therefore, upon a motion <br />made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the request to donate 819 S. Arnold <br />to the City of South Bend was denied. <br />
