REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 16, 1995 <br />REQUESTS REFERRED: <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczysnki, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the following <br />requests were referred to the appropriate Bureaus and Departments for review and recommendation: <br />- TO CONDUCT THE SECOND ANNUAL TRIATHLON EXTREME <br />Ms. Loren T. Kinne, Race Director, InFront Promotion and Camp Ray, 938 Roberts, South Bend, <br />Indiana, submitted a request to conduct the Second Annual Triathlon Extreme, which will consists <br />of a Fun Roll, Fast Roll, and In -Line Skate Race, to be held on Sunday, May 21, 1995. <br />- TO ESTABLISH A RESIDENTIAL PARKING ZONE - 1001-1100 BELLEVUE AND 1600 <br />BLOCK OF RUSKIN <br />Ms. Mary Ann Zemke, Indiana University at South Bend, 1700 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, <br />Indiana, submitted a petition for the establishment of a Residential Parking Zone in the area of <br />1001-1100 Bellevue Avenue and 1601 to 1622 Ruskin Street. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - COLLEGE <br />FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME - TRACK LIGHTING AUDIOVISUAL EQUIPMENT, <br />COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND VIDEO PROJECTION EQUIPMENT <br />Mr. David W. Fox, Gerard Hilferty & Associates, 14240 Route 550, Athens, Ohio , requested <br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for three equipment packages pertaining to audiovisual <br />and computer exhibit elements for the College Football Hall of Fame. Additionally, Mr. R.A. <br />Dieringer, Verkler, Inc., 4406 Technology Drive, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to <br />advertise for the receipt of bids for interior light track fixtures for the College Football Hall of <br />Fame. Mr. Dieringer noted that the drawings are being prepared by the Troyer Group. Mrs. <br />Manier made a motion that the request be approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the following two <br />(2) traffic control devices were approved: <br />REMOVAL OF: No Parking Sign, revised to No Parking on South side <br />LOCATION: Bruce Street, from Chapin to Catalpa, South side <br />REMARKS: Our Lady of Hungary Church request <br />NEW INSTALLATION: No Parking Sign, Tow Zone <br />LOCATION: 800 block Chippewa at dead end <br />REMARKS: Complaints from neighbors' cars blocking drives <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORTS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Department of Code Enforcement has submitted two (2) lists <br />containing thirty-four (34) City owned and miscellaneous properties which were cleaned by the <br />Department on January 6, 1995. Mrs. Manier made a motion that the lists as submitted be accepted <br />for filing. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Kevin Horton, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $673,401.36 and <br />recommended approval. Additionally, Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive Director, WDS of Northern <br />Indiana, submitted one (1) list containing claims in the amount of $27,317.70 and recommended. <br />approval. Further, Ms. Ann Kolata, Department of Community and Economic Development, <br />submitted claims for the College Football Hall of Fame and recommended approval. Mr. <br />Leszczynski made a motion that the claims be approved and the reports as submitted be filed. Mrs. <br />Manier seconded the motion which carried. <br />
