462 <br />REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 28. 1996 <br />APPROVE REOUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED <br />VEHICLES <br />Mr. Gary Libbey, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale <br />of approximately fifteen (15) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at Super Auto Salvage <br />Corporation, 3300 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles have been <br />stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners <br />and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - EQUIPMENT <br />SERVICES FACILITY EXPANSION - PROJECT NO. 96-68 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, requested <br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated <br />that this project will add a bay to the Equipment Services Facility to service Fire Department vehicles, <br />and funds have been appropriated from the General Fund. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids <br />was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - WESTSIDE <br />NEIGHBORHOOD PARTNERSHIP CENTER CURB AND SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT <br />PROGRAM - PROJECT NO. 96-45 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, requested <br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated <br />that this project will make repairs along three (3) blocks of Huron Street, from Grant Street to <br />Pulaski Street. The Department of Community and Economic Development has appropriated <br />Community Development Block Grant funds to pay for this project. Therefore, upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt <br />of bids was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - POLICE <br />VEHICLE ACCESSORIES <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Division of Equipment Services, <br />requested permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to equipment. Mr. <br />Chlebowski stated that funding is provided by First Source Leasing. Therefore, upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt <br />of bids was approved. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the following five <br />(5) traffic control devices were approved: <br />NEW INSTALLATION: Handicap Sign <br />LOCATION: 1815 South Taylor <br />REMARKS: Mr. Gray has met all the requirements <br />NEW INSTALLATION: <br />Handicap Sign <br />LOCATION: <br />1638 Magnolia <br />REMARKS: <br />Mr. Pierce has met all the requirements <br />NEW INSTALLATION: <br />Handicap Sign <br />LOCATION: <br />210 Hammond Place <br />REMARKS: <br />Ms. Randall has met all the requirements <br />NEW INSTALLATION: School Zone <br />LOCATION: 700 block North Niles <br />REMARKS: For Madison Center <br />REMOVAL: No Parking Bus Zone 7-4 <br />LOCATION: 28th/Vine to Pleasant, west side <br />
