<br />AWARD BID ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-TWO (122) CROWN VICTORIA POLICE PATROL
<br />VEHICLES
<br />Mr. Matthew L. Chlebowski, Director, Division of Equipment Services, advised the Board that on
<br />September 30, 1996, bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After
<br />reviewing those bids, Mr. Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to Jordan Ford
<br />Corporation, 609 East Jefferson Boulevard, Mishawaka, Indiana in the amount of $2,403,400.00,
<br />which is a unit price of $19,700.00 per vehicle. Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the
<br />recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mrs. Manier seconded the
<br />motion which carried.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ST. JOSEPH
<br />VALLEY PARKWAY/NIMTZ PARKWAY/INDIANA TOLL ROAD INTERCHANGE PHASE
<br />I - SOUTHBOUND ENTRANCE RAMP FROM NIMTZ PARKWAY TO ST. JOSEPH VALLEY
<br />PARKWAY - PROJECT NO. 95-18-2
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, requested
<br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated
<br />that this project will construct the first phase of a new interchange between Nimtz Parkway and the
<br />St. Joseph Valley Parkway. The project is being funded by a grant of $4.9 million from the Indiana
<br />Department of Transportation, Transportation Finance Authority. Therefore, upon a motion made
<br />by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of
<br />bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - 1996 CONCRETE
<br />PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS - PROJECT NO. 96-61
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, requested
<br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated
<br />that this project will make repairs to various streets paved with concrete. Funds have been
<br />appropriated from the Local Road and Street fund to pay for this project. Therefore, upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt
<br />of bids was approved.

<br />TOLL ROAD INTERCHANGE PHASE I - SOUTHBOUND ENTRANCE RAMP FROM NIMTZ
<br />PARKWAY TO ST. JOSEPH VALLEY PARKWAY - PROJECT NO. 95-18-2
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the Title Sheet for the above referred to project was being presented at this
<br />time for execution. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the
<br />above referred to Title Sheet was approved and signed.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT NEIGHBORHOOD HALLOWEEN
<br />PARTY
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Mr. Stanley J. Molenda, 329 West Madison, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred
<br />to Neighborhood Halloween Party, on Sunday, October 27, 1996, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.,
<br />on LaMonte Terrace from North Forest to Park. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded
<br />by Mrs. Manier and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the following traffic
<br />control device was approved:
<br />NEW INSTALLATION: Stop Sign
<br />LOCATION: Dover & Ridgedale
<br />REMARKS: "T" Intersection
<br />APPROVE WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMIT
<br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Ken Zmudzinski, Pretreatment Coordinator, Division of
<br />Environmental Services, submitted the following Wastewater Discharge Permit and recommended
<br />approval:
