REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 5; 1996 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:33 a.m. on Monday, August <br />5,1996, by Board President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. Caldwell and <br />Mrs. Jenny Pitts Manier present. Board Attorney Anne Brunel was not present. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the minutes of the <br />regular meeting of the Board held on July 29, 1996, were approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - CAR WASHES FOR SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT VEHICLES <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to service. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />HI SPEED AUTO WASH <br />609 East LaSalle <br />South Bend, Indiana 46617 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Nate Cossman <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />BID: <br />Full Service Car Wash, 0-100 units per month $ 7.25 each <br />Full Service Car Wash, 100 or more units per month $ 6.75 each <br />Wet Wash Only, 1-100 units per month $ 3.75 each <br />Wet Wash Only, 100 or more units per month $ 3.50 each <br />Jeeps $10.00 each <br />Motorcycles $ 8.00 each <br />TOWN & COUNTRY AMOCO <br />3627 East McKinley <br />South Bend, Indiana 46615 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Richard Redwine <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />G <br />Wet Wash Only, 1-100 units per month $1.99 each <br />Wet Wash Only, 100 or more units per month $1.99 each <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the above bids were <br />referred to the Police Department for review and recommendation. <br />AWARD BID - SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY - 215 DAYTON <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised the Board that on July 29, 1996, bids were received and opened for the <br />above referred to real property. After reviewing those bids, the Legal Department recommends that <br />the Board award the bid to the highest bidder, Tommy and Lisa Jones, 217 East Dayton, South Bend, <br />Indiana, in the amount of $150.00, plus recording fees.
