<br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 15, 1996
<br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:32 a.m. on Monday, July 15,
<br />1996, by Board President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski and Mr. James R. Caldwell
<br />present. Also present was Board Attorney Anne Bruneel. Board Member Jenny Pitts Manier was
<br />not present.
<br />RESOLUTION NO.48-1996 - ADOPT FISCAL PLAN TABLED/AGENDA ITEM STRICKEN
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, Resolution No.
<br />48-1996, Adopt a Fiscal Plan for Ironwood Plaza, was tabled. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the Grant of Perpetual Easement was stricken,
<br />as the Board had already approved it.
<br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the minutes of the
<br />regular meeting of the Board held on July 8, 1996, were approved.
<br />PUBLIC HEARING - APPLICATION FOR TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - LA CASA
<br />DE AMISTAD. INC.
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning an
<br />Application for a Transient Merchant License, as submitted by Mr. Christopher Nanni, Director, La
<br />Casa De Amistad, Inc., 746 South Meade Street, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct Fiesta Michiana
<br />`96, in front of the Morris Civic Plaza, on Saturday, September 7, 1996, from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00
<br />p.m., which will include the sale of arts, crafts and food. Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable
<br />recommendations have been received by the Police Department, Fire Department and the Building
<br />Commissioner. Ms. Edith Sanchez, Program Director, 1014 East Madison, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />was present, and recommended approval.
<br />There being no one else present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public
<br />Hearing was closed. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski
<br />and carried, the Application for a Transient Merchant License was approved.
<br />OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY - 215 DAYTON
<br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to property. The
<br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News
<br />which were found to be sufficient. There were no bids submitted.
<br />OPENING AND AWARD OF QUOTATIONS - SANITARY SEWER SERVICE -
<br />MEADE/CALVERT STREETS - PROJECT NO. 96-47-1
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed Quotations
<br />for the above referred to project. The following Quotations were opened and read:
