REGULAR MEETING JUNE 24. 1996 <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - MEADE STREET <br />STORM SEWER & CURB INSTALLATION - EWING TO CALVERT STREETS - PROJECT <br />NO. 96-47 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, requested <br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated <br />that this project will construct a storm sewer and build curbs on a two (2) block long portion of <br />Meade Street. Sufficient funds have been appropriated for this project. Therefore, upon a motion <br />made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt <br />of bids was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - NEAR <br />NORTHWEST PARTNERSHIP CENTER SERVICE AREA - SIDEWALK, CURB AND <br />APPROACH REPAIRS - PROJECT NO.96-44 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, requested <br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated <br />that this project will improve curbs, walks, approaches and plant new trees on Cleveland Avenue in <br />the Partnership Center Service area. Work is financed by appropriation from a Community <br />Development Block Grant.. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. <br />Manier and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. <br />REQUEST REFERRED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the following <br />request was referred to the appropriate Bureaus and Departments for recommendation: <br />- TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Brad Dennis, Ziolkowski Construction, 1005 South Lafayette, South <br />Bend, Indiana, requested permission to park a sixteen (16) foot utility trailer on the east or south side <br />of the First Bank Building, 205 West Jefferson, South Bend, Indiana, to store their equipment and <br />materials, for four (4) to five (5) months, during the restoration of the First Bank Building. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR BOND <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following <br />Contractor Bond be approved as follows: <br />BOND OF CONTRACTOR <br />Greg Schnabel Approved June 24, 1996, Retroactive to June 17, 1996 <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bond be approved <br />as outlined above. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried. <br />L <br />
