<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a Proposal for professional architectural
<br />services for the development of a jail design that would be appropriate for St. Joseph County to be
<br />located in the Studebaker Corridor, at the corner of Lafayette Avenue and Sample Street between
<br />the City of South Bend, and RQAW Corporation, 4755 Kingsway Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana. It
<br />is noted that this Proposal is in the amount of $18,350.00. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs.
<br />Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the Proposal was approved and executed.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS -
<br />MISCELLANEOUS GOLF COURSE EQUIPMENT - BLACKTHORN GOLF COURSE
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. James Riggs, Blackthorn Project Manager and Mr. John
<br />Quickstad, Blackthorn Golf Course Superintendent, requested permission to advertise for the receipt
<br />of bids for the above referred to miscellaneous equipment. Mr. Riggs and Mr. Quickstad stated that
<br />the equipment will be purchased for Blackthorn Golf Course, and the source of funding for this
<br />project is the Capital Lease Purchase Program. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier,
<br />seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - SAMPLE-EWING
<br />REDEVELOPMENT AREA - SITE CLEARANCE PHASE II - STRUCTURE REMOVAL
<br />PACKAGE 2 - PROJECT NO. 96-15-2
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Ann Kolata, Department of Community and Economic
<br />Development, requested permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to
<br />project. Ms. Kolata stated that this project will demolish one structure and remove underground
<br />storage tanks from 1120 South Michigan Street, formerly known as U-Haul. The source of funding
<br />for this project is Fund 414, the Sample -Ewing TIF Allocation Fund. Therefore, upon a motion made
<br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of
<br />bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ONE (1) AERIAL
<br />LIFT BOOM TRUCK
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. H.L. Grounds, Division of Equipment Services, requested
<br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to equipment. Mr. Grounds
<br />stated that this equipment will be used by the City of South Bend Traffic & Lighting, and funding is
<br />being provided through the Traffic & Lighting Capital Improvement Plan. Therefore, upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt
<br />of bids was approved.
<br />REQUEST REFERRED
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the following request
<br />was referred to the appropriate Bureaus and Departments for recommendation:
<br />- TO CONDUCT NATIONAL MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SUPER CITIES WALK
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Anne Pinnick, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 615 North Alabama,
<br />Indianapolis, Indiana, requested permission to conduct the above referred to walk on Sunday, April
<br />14, 1996, on the designated route as submitted. Further, the start and finish line will be at Howard
<br />Park.
