<br />the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs.
<br />Manier and carried, the above request was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - SAMPLE-EWING
<br />REDEVELOPMENT AREA - SITE CLEARANCE PHASE II - STRUCTURE REMOVAL
<br />PACKAGE 1 - PROJECT NO. 96-15
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Dan Weisel, Division of Engineering, requested permission to
<br />advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Weisel stated that this project
<br />will demolish four (4) commercial structures in the above referenced area. Therefore, upon a
<br />motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the request to advertise for the
<br />receipt of bids was approved.
<br />REQUEST REFERRED
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the following request
<br />was referred to the appropriate Bureaus and Departments for recommendation:
<br />- TO CONDUCT RUN, JANE, RUN - YWCA
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Kit Banta, YWCA, 802 North Lafayette Boulevard, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, requested permission to conduct their 12th Annual run, jane, run, from Friday, August 17,
<br />1996, to Wednesday, August 28, 1996, on the designated route as submitted.
<br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the following traffic
<br />control device was approved:
<br />REMOVAL OF: Handicap Sign
<br />LOCATION: 442 S. Kosciuszko
<br />REMARKS: Signs are not needed
<br />APPROVE IRREVOCABLE LETTER OF CREDIT:
<br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, submitted the following Irrevocable
<br />Letter of Credit to the Board and recommended approval:
<br />IRREVOCABLE STANDBY LETTER OF CREDIT NO. A90909
<br />ISSUED BY: Freeman -Spicer Finance Corporation
<br />FOR: Field Pointe Subdivision, Phase I, Section 1
<br />AMOUNT: $21,320.00
<br />EXPIRES: February 14, 1997
<br />IMPROVEMENT: Uncompleted improvements to Field Pointe Subdivision
<br />Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the Letter of Credit, as outlined above, be approved. Mrs. Manier
<br />seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVE CLAIMS
<br />Mr. Kevin Horton, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $994,469.56, dated February
<br />19, 1996 and recommended approval. Additionally, Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive Director, WDS
<br />of Northern Indiana, submitted one (1) list containing claims in the amount of $96,390.42 and
<br />recommended approval. Mr. Ann Kolata, Department of Community and Economic Development,
<br />submitted claims for the College Football Hall of Fame and recommended approval. Mr. Caldwell
<br />made a motion that the claims be approved and the reports as submitted be filed. Mrs. Manier
<br />seconded the motion which carried.
