R41 REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 26,, 1996 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:34 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 1996, by Mr. James R. Caldwell, with Mrs. Jenny Pitts Manier present. Also present was Board Attorney Anne Bruneel. Board President John E. Leszczynski was not present. AGENDA ITEM ADDED Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, an agenda item for a construction contract for Ziolkowski Construction was added. APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of the Board held on February 19, 1996, were approved, subject to the following correction: Page 52, paragraph six (6) should include "There being no one else present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, Mr. Leszczynski moved to close the Public Hearing. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried." OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF OBSOLETE EQUIPMENT - FIRE DEPARTMENT - ONE (1) 1985 PIRSCH MIDI PUMPER - ONE (1) 1988 MCCOY MILLER HEAVY DUTY RESCUE UNIT - TWO (2) GAS FIRED CIRCULAR HOSE DRYERS This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the sale of the above referred to equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: ORONOKO CHARTER TOWNSHIP 4583 East Snow Road Berrien Springs, Michigan 49103 Bid was signed by Fire Chief Bruce Stover BID: $40,000.00 - 1987 GMC Rescue Truck BILL HOFFMAN 58610 Elm Road Mishawaka, Indiana 46544 Bid was signed by Mr. Bill Hoffinan BID: $ 9,200.00 -Fire Rescue Unit, VIN 510510 Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the above bids were referred to the Fire Department for review and recommendation. APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - EMERGENCY PIPING REPAIRS - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT - PROJECT NO 96-18 Mr. Caldwell advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on February 12, 1996, to Zimmerman Industrial Piping, Inc., 1117 North Clay, Mishawaka, Indiana, in the amount of $29,200.00 for the above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the Contract was approved and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond as submitted were filed.
