m REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 2, 1996 concerning this Vacation Petition. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. REQUESTS REFERRED Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the following requests were referred to the appropriate Bureaus and Departments for recommendation: - TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY - 749 NORTH CLEVELAND AVENUE In a letter to the Board, Ms. Della Jenkins, 745 North Cleveland Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to purchase the above referred to property. Ms. Jenkins stated that the lot has been vacant for at least ten (10) years, and has been a dumping ground for discarded paper, bottles and other debris. Further, she has maintained the property over the years and would like to secure it for the purpose of planting a garden in the Spring. - TO CONDUCT ANNIVERSARY MARCH - ST JOSEPH COUNTY RIGHT TO LIFE Ms. Mary MacDonell, St. Joseph County Right to Life, 320 North Lafayette Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, submitted an Application for Use of the Public Right -of -Way, to conduct an Anniversary March, commemorating January 22, 19973, Roe vs. Wade decision, on Monday, January 22, 1996, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., on Main and Jefferson and extending around the entire block. - TO CONDUCT WALKAMERICA - MARCH OF DIMES BIRTH DEFECTS FUND Mr. Thomas E. Gerard, March of Dimes, 501 East Monroe, South Bend, Indiana, submitted an Application for Use of Public Right -of -Way, to conduct Walkamerica, on Saturday, April 27, 1996, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., on the designated route as submitted. APPROVE RELEASE OF CONTRACTOR BOND Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following Contractor Bond be released as follows: BOND OF CONTRACTOR Donat Construction Released Effective December 18, 1995 Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bond be released as outlined above. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried.
