401 <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 22, 1997 <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the following traffic <br />control devices were approved: <br />New Installation - Handicap <br />440 South Camden <br />Mr. Robaska has met all <br />Sign <br />requirements <br />New Installation - Handicap <br />621 Lindsey <br />St. Paul Baptist Church has <br />Sign <br />handicap entrance on Scott <br />Street w/handicap ramp <br />[Removal - Handicap Sign <br />1 1147 N. College <br />Signs are not needed <br />APPROVE AND/OR RELEASE CONTRACTOR AND EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following <br />Contractors and 3,•:cavation Bonds be approved and/or released as follows: <br />BOND OF CONTRACTOR <br />D&D Custom Concrete <br />Thomas Miller <br />Red Arrow Excavating, Inc. <br />Robert J. Simpson <br />Portage Realty <br />Lawrence & Deborah Dwyer <br />Jeffrey Workman DB/A <br />Workman Concrete <br />EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Red Arrow Excavating, Inc <br />Released Effective September 22, 1997 <br />Approved Retroactive to September 17, 1997 <br />Approved Retroactive to September 18, 1997 <br />Released Effective September 22, 1997 <br />Released Effective September 22, 1997 <br />Approved Retroactive to September 19, 1997 <br />Approved Effective September 22, 1997 <br />Approved Effective Retroactive to September 18, 1997 <br />Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bonds be approved <br />and/or released as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Ms. M. Catherine Roemer, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $2,430,814.85 dated <br />September 22, 1997 and recommended approval. Additionally, Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive <br />Director, WDS of Northern Indiana, submitted two (2) lists containing claims in the amount of <br />$102,521.94 and $12,322.85 and recommended approval. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the <br />claims be approved and the reports as submitted be filed.
