<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - NORTHEAST
<br />NEIGHBORHOOD CURB AND SIDEWALK REPAIRS - PROJECT NO 97-41
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Deb Martin, Division of Engineering, requested permission to
<br />advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Ms. Martin stated that this project
<br />will remove and replace sidewalk, curbs and approaches in the 1300 block of Bissell. The project will
<br />be funded through CBDG funds. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr.
<br />Littrell and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED
<br />VEHICLES
<br />Mrs. Kathy Dempsey, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise
<br />for the sale of approximately twelve (12) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at Super Auto
<br />Salvage Corporation, 3300 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles
<br />have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for auto theft and
<br />the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer
<br />and carried, the above request was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - LEIGHTON
<br />PLAZA PHASE II - CAST IN PLACE CONCRETE - PROJECT NO 97-57-3
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, requested
<br />permission to advertise for the sale of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated that
<br />this project will construct the foundations, below grade columns, perimeter retaining walls, and
<br />ground level structural slab for the two buildings that will be constructed by others in the Plaza. The
<br />remainder of the Plaza, the remainder of the underground parking garage and the parking garage
<br />above grade will be constructed by this construct. Further, the Department of Community and
<br />Economic Development and the Redevelopment Commission have advertised for the sale of bonds
<br />to finance the full development of this projects, and bond proceeds will be available prior to award
<br />of the contract for this phase. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr.
<br />Littrell and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT NEIGHBORHOOD CAR WASH
<br />Mr. Littrell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Pat
<br />Barham, Southeast Partnership Center, 626 Broadway Street, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the
<br />above referred to car wash on Broadway from Rush to Marrietta, on Saturday, June 14, 1997, from
<br />9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried,
<br />the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Littrell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Kim
<br />Barham, 505 East Irvington, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block party on
<br />Irvington from Fellows to Rush, on Saturday June 21, 1997 and Saturday, July 5, 1997, from 12:00
<br />noon until 11:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried,
<br />the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Littrell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr.
<br />Thomas Wisniewski, 1620 Sunnymede, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block
<br />party, on Friday, July 4, 1997, from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., in the 1500-1700 blocks of
<br />Sunnymede. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Littrell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr.
<br />Ephram Ike, 1723 South Leer, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block party on
<br />Leer from Dubail to Randolph, on Saturday, June 21, 1997. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer,
