258 <br />REGULAR MEETING JUNE 9, 1997 <br />seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT RIVER PARK DAY PARADE <br />Mr. Littrell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, <br />Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as <br />submitted by Mr. K.R. Palmer, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above <br />referred to parade in conjunction with the River Park Day, on Saturday, June 21, 1997, beginning at <br />10:00 a.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded <br />by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />UNFAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE A STREET <br />Mr. Littrell indicated that the Common Council has submitted to the Board a Vacation Petition as <br />completed by Mr. Michael Anastasio, 3334 Woodmont Drive, South Bend, Indiana to vacate the <br />following street: <br />Tudor Lane from the east right-of-way of Woodmont Street (or Drive) approximately 115 east to <br />dead end and a width of 50 feet. Part located in Twyckenham Hills Section "H", City of South Bend, <br />St. Joseph County, Indiana. <br />Mr. Littrell advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this <br />Vacation Petition from the Area Plan Commission, Police Department, Fire Department and <br />Sanitation. However, the Department of Economic Development and the Department of Public <br />Works submitted unfavorable recommendations, as submitted to the Board. Therefore, Ms. Roemer <br />made a motion that the Board send an unfavorable recommendation to the Common Council <br />concerning this Vacation Petition. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR BONDS <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following <br />Contractors Bonds be approved as follows: <br />BOND OF CONTRACTOR <br />Jose Polomo <br />Roger Mattix & William Claeys <br />Robert Bradburn <br />Approved June 9, 1997 <br />Approved June 9, 1997 <br />Approved June 9, 1997, Retroactive to June 6, 1997 <br />Mr. Littrell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bonds be approved as <br />outlined above. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - NORTHEAST NEIGHBORHOOD CURB AND SIDEWALK <br />REPAIRS - PROJECT NO. 97-41 <br />Mr. Littrell advised that the Title Sheet for the above referred to project was being presented at this <br />time for execution. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the <br />above referred to Title Sheet was approved and signed. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - LEIGHTON PLAZA - PHASE II - CAST IN PLACE CONCRETE - <br />PROJECT NO. 97-57-3 <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the Title Sheet for the above referred to project was being presented at this <br />time for execution. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the <br />above referred to Title Sheet was approved and signed. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Ms. M. Catherine Roemer, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $1,744,053.90 dated <br />June 9, 1997, and recommended approval. Mr. Littrell made a motion that the claims be approved <br />and the reports as submitted be filed. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried. <br />1 <br />
