REGULAR MEETING MARCH 17, 1997 Near Northwest $115,750 Renovate 1005 Portage Neighborhood (Minkler Hardware ) to be used as commercial space for non -profits. Division of Business $25.00 per hour Contract w/Michelle Russell Assistance and Development for financial analysis and commercial loan processing Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the above referred to Contracts and Addenda were approved and executed. It was noted that Ms. Roemer abstained from voting on the Contract from Housing Development Corporation, as she is a member of that Board. APPROVAL OF GRANT AGREEMENT - NORTHEAST NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL, INC. Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend and the Near. Northeast Neighborhood Council, Inc., for the purpose of funding Northeast Neighborhood Council, Inc. Mr. Caldwell noted that the Agreement is in the amount of $25,000.00. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the Agreement was approved and executed. APPROVAL OF UTILITY AGREEMENT - AT&T Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend and AT&T, for telephone lines and appurtenances located on Ironwood Drive, 100 feet south of Ewing Avenue to Randolph Street in South Bend, and are granted a permit to be located within the highway right-of-way and within two feet of the right-of-way line. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Agreement was approved and executed. APPROVAL OF PARKING GARAGE FUND AUDIT - CROWE CHIZEK Mr. Caldwell stated that a letter of understanding for the parking garage fund audit has been presented to the Board for approval, on behalf of Crowe Chizek and Company, 330 East Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana. Mr. Caldwell stated that the fees for this audit are $5,400.00, and in addition, a fee in the amount of $500.00 for preparation of the federal and state tax returns of the Parking Facilities of South Bend, Inc. will be added. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Proposal was approved. ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 16-1997 - DISPOSAL OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell , seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the following Resolution was adopted by the Board of Public Works: RESOLUTION NO. 16-1997 WHEREAS, I.C. 36-9-6-1 gives the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend the right and duty to have custody of, control of, use of, and dispose of in accordance with Indiana statutes, all real and personal property owned by the City of South Bend; and WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend passed as amended, on January 9, 1995, Ordinance No. 8570-95 which states that upon retirement with twenty (20) or more years of service: "Upon retirement with twenty (20) or more years of service to the City of South Bend, Indiana, a sworn member of the South Bend Fire Department shall be entitled to retain as his or her own personal property, the fire helmet used by such Firefighter immediately prior to giving notice of his or her retirement." and WHEREAS, Melvin Lesniewicz and Richard Pusztai retired from the South Bend, Indiana Fire Department after twenty (20) or more years of service, and the Board of Public Safety of the City
