REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 17, 1997 <br />Near Northwest <br />$115,750 <br />Renovate 1005 Portage <br />Neighborhood <br />(Minkler Hardware ) to be <br />used as commercial space for <br />non -profits. <br />Division of Business <br />$25.00 per hour <br />Contract w/Michelle Russell <br />Assistance and Development <br />for financial analysis and <br />commercial loan processing <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the above referred to <br />Contracts and Addenda were approved and executed. It was noted that Ms. Roemer abstained from <br />voting on the Contract from Housing Development Corporation, as she is a member of that Board. <br />APPROVAL OF GRANT AGREEMENT - NORTHEAST NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL, INC. <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend and <br />the Near. Northeast Neighborhood Council, Inc., for the purpose of funding Northeast Neighborhood <br />Council, Inc. Mr. Caldwell noted that the Agreement is in the amount of $25,000.00. Therefore, <br />upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the Agreement was <br />approved and executed. <br />APPROVAL OF UTILITY AGREEMENT - AT&T <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend and <br />AT&T, for telephone lines and appurtenances located on Ironwood Drive, 100 feet south of Ewing <br />Avenue to Randolph Street in South Bend, and are granted a permit to be located within the highway <br />right-of-way and within two feet of the right-of-way line. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Agreement was approved and executed. <br />APPROVAL OF PARKING GARAGE FUND AUDIT - CROWE CHIZEK <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that a letter of understanding for the parking garage fund audit has been <br />presented to the Board for approval, on behalf of Crowe Chizek and Company, 330 East Jefferson <br />Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana. Mr. Caldwell stated that the fees for this audit are $5,400.00, and <br />in addition, a fee in the amount of $500.00 for preparation of the federal and state tax returns of the <br />Parking Facilities of South Bend, Inc. will be added. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded <br />by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Proposal was approved. <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 16-1997 - DISPOSAL OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell , seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the following Resolution <br />was adopted by the Board of Public Works: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 16-1997 <br />WHEREAS, I.C. 36-9-6-1 gives the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend the <br />right and duty to have custody of, control of, use of, and dispose of in accordance with Indiana <br />statutes, all real and personal property owned by the City of South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend passed as amended, on January <br />9, 1995, Ordinance No. 8570-95 which states that upon retirement with twenty (20) or more years <br />of service: <br />"Upon retirement with twenty (20) or more years of service to the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, a sworn member of the South Bend Fire Department shall be entitled to retain as his <br />or her own personal property, the fire helmet used by such Firefighter immediately prior to <br />giving notice of his or her retirement." <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Melvin Lesniewicz and Richard Pusztai retired from the South Bend, Indiana <br />Fire Department after twenty (20) or more years of service, and the Board of Public Safety of the City <br />
