REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 27, 1997
<br />Public Convenience. It was noted that the Public Hearing for the Certificate of Public Convenience
<br />was held on January 13, 1997. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by
<br />Mrs. Roemer and carried, the taxi cab rates for Ace Cab Lines were filed.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT A CIRCUS
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Code Enforcement, Police Department, Park Department, Building Department, Fire
<br />Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Donna
<br />McMahon, Post Office Box 14005 NE Plaza, Sarasota, Florida to conduct the above referred to
<br />circus, on July 17, 1997, at the Armory at 1901 South Kemble, South Bend, Indiana. Additionally
<br />submitted was their Certificate of Insurance for this date. Upon a motion made by Mrs. Roemer,
<br />seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF LICENSE APPLICATIONS FOR RUBBISH AND GARBAGE REMOVAL
<br />SERVICE
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations from Code
<br />Enforcement for four (4) License Applications for a Rubbish and Garbage Removal Service for the
<br />following individuals:
<br />K&D Hauling and Moving
<br />812 Division
<br />Mishawaka, Indiana
<br />Best Way Disposal Inc.
<br />3290 Hennessey Road
<br />Watervliet, Michigan
<br />Leroy Garden
<br />218 N. Sadie
<br />South Bend, Indiana

<br />It was also noted that the vehicles to be used in conjunction with their services have been inspected
<br />and approved by the Bureau of Sanitation. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by
<br />Mrs. Roemer and carried, the License Applications were approved.

<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Roemer and carried, the following traffic

<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Roemer and carried, the following
<br />Certificate of Insurance was accepted for filing:

<br />APPROVE CLAIMS
<br />Ms. M. Catherine Roemer, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $2,811,505.23 dated
<br />January 20, 1997, and recommended approval. Additionally, Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive
<br />Director, WDS of Northern Indiana, submitted one (1) list containing claims in the amount of
<br />$25,239.55 and recommended approval. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the claims be approved
<br />and the reports as submitted be filed. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried.
