p'I <br />1 <br />1 <br />REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 19 1998 <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS SALE OF <br />ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Mrs. Kathy Dempsey, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise <br />for the sale of approximately fourteen (14) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at Super Auto <br />Salvage Corporation, 3300 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles <br />have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for auto theft and <br />the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer <br />and carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE AND/OR RELEASE CONTRACTOR AND EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following <br />Contractors and Excavation Bonds be approved and/or released as follows: <br />BOND OF CONTRACTOR <br />Jeffrey Workman/dba Workman Concrete Released Effective October 19, 1998 <br />Kym Orange Released Effective October 19, 1998 <br />EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Advanced Pollution Technologies Approved Retroactive to October 7, 1998 <br />Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bonds be approved <br />and/or released as outlined above. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEETS <br />- WOODWARD AVENUE SEWER REPAIR - PROJECT NO. 97-61 <br />- MAYFLOWER SECTION 9 <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the Title Sheets for the above referred to projects were being presented <br />at this time for execution. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and <br />carried, the above referred to Title Sheets were approved and signed. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the following <br />Certificates of Insurance were accepted for filing: <br />First Source Corporation <br />Post Office Box 1602 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46634-1602 <br />Catering by Billie, Inc. <br />117 East Wayne Street <br />South Bend, Indiana 46634 <br />Martin, Inc. <br />Post Office Box 522 <br />Fort Wayne, Indiana 46801 <br />Bowen Engineering <br />Post Office Box 40729 <br />Indianapolis, Indiana 46240 <br />Torok Excavation <br />54195 Burdette <br />South Bend, Indiana 46635 <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Ms. M. Catherine Roemer, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $1,681,541.63 and <br />recommended approval. Additionally, Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive Director, WDS of Northern <br />Indiana, submitted two (2) lists containing claims in the amount of $80,374.71 and $410,506.81 and <br />recommended approval. Ms. Cleo Hickey, Morris Performing Arts Center, submitted claims and <br />recommended approval. Ms. Roemer made a motion that the claims be approved and the reports as <br />submitted be filed. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />
