p'I 1 1 REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 19 1998 APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES Mrs. Kathy Dempsey, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately fourteen (14) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at Super Auto Salvage Corporation, 3300 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the above request was approved. APPROVE AND/OR RELEASE CONTRACTOR AND EXCAVATION BONDS Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following Contractors and Excavation Bonds be approved and/or released as follows: BOND OF CONTRACTOR Jeffrey Workman/dba Workman Concrete Released Effective October 19, 1998 Kym Orange Released Effective October 19, 1998 EXCAVATION BONDS Advanced Pollution Technologies Approved Retroactive to October 7, 1998 Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bonds be approved and/or released as outlined above. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE TITLE SHEETS - WOODWARD AVENUE SEWER REPAIR - PROJECT NO. 97-61 - MAYFLOWER SECTION 9 Mr. Caldwell advised that the Title Sheets for the above referred to projects were being presented at this time for execution. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the above referred to Title Sheets were approved and signed. FILING OF CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the following Certificates of Insurance were accepted for filing: First Source Corporation Post Office Box 1602 South Bend, Indiana 46634-1602 Catering by Billie, Inc. 117 East Wayne Street South Bend, Indiana 46634 Martin, Inc. Post Office Box 522 Fort Wayne, Indiana 46801 Bowen Engineering Post Office Box 40729 Indianapolis, Indiana 46240 Torok Excavation 54195 Burdette South Bend, Indiana 46635 APPROVE CLAIMS Ms. M. Catherine Roemer, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $1,681,541.63 and recommended approval. Additionally, Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive Director, WDS of Northern Indiana, submitted two (2) lists containing claims in the amount of $80,374.71 and $410,506.81 and recommended approval. Ms. Cleo Hickey, Morris Performing Arts Center, submitted claims and recommended approval. Ms. Roemer made a motion that the claims be approved and the reports as submitted be filed. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
