<br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the above Quotations
<br />were referred to the Division of Engineering for review and recommendation.
<br />OPENING OF QUOTATIONS - PAINTING OF CONRAIL VIADUCT - WESTERN AND
<br />WALNUT STREETS - PROJECT NO. 98-81
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised that this was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed Quotations
<br />for the above referred to project. The following Quotation was opened and read:

<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the above Quotation was
<br />referred to the Division of Engineering for review and recommendation.
<br />AWARD BID/APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - LEIGHTON PLAZA - FINISHES
<br />AND SITE CONSTRUCTION - PROJECT NO. 98-57-7
<br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, City Engineer, advised the Board that on October 5, 1998, bids were received
<br />and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Littrell recommends
<br />that the Board award the contract to L.L. Geans, 1923 North Home Street, Mishawaka, Indiana in
<br />the amount of $909,292.00. Therefore, Mr. Powell made a motion that the recommendation be
<br />accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on October 19, 1998, to L.L. Geans,
<br />Indiana, in the amount of $909,292.00 for the above referred to project, a Contract in said amount
<br />was being submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Mr.
<br />Caldwell and carried, the Contract was approved and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance,
<br />Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond as submitted were filed.
<br />AWARD BID - NORTH PUMPING STATION
<br />Mr. John Stancati, Director of Water Works, advised the Board that on October 5, 1998, bids were
<br />received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Stancati
<br />recommends that the Board award the contract to North American Construction L.L.C., North
<br />America Construction, 2249 Mahogany Way, Eagan, Minnesota, in the amount of $6,006,367.00,
<br />which is comprised of the base bid and alternate bid items 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Therefore, Mr. Powell
<br />made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Ms.
<br />Roemer seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD QUOTATION - COUNTY JAIL SITE PREPARATION - DOCK MODIFICATION -
<br />PROJECT NO. 98-59-1
<br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, City Engineer, advised the Board that on October 12, 1998, quotations were
<br />received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Littrell
<br />recommends that the Board award the contract to Casteel Construction Corporation, 23186 West
<br />Ireland Road, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $19,370.00. Therefore, Ms. Roemer made a
