1 <br />1 <br />11 <br />REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 5, 1998 <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - SOUTHFIELD <br />LIFT STATION AND SEWER - PROJECT NO 98-89 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl Littrell, City Engineer, requested permission to advertise <br />for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated that this project will <br />provide a new lift station and force main for the Southfield Subdivision. Work will be funded by the <br />Sewage Works. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and <br />carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. <br />REOUEST TO REJECT OUOTATIONS/RE-ADVERTISE FOR BIDS - WOODWARD AVENUE <br />SEWER REPAIR - PROJECT NO 97-61 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl Littrell, City Engineer, requested permission to reject the <br />quotations for the above referred to project and re -advertise for the receipt of bids, as they exceeded <br />the Engineer's Estimate. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, <br />the request was approved. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - SOUTHFIELD LIFT STATION AND SEWER - PROJECT NO. 98- <br />89 <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the Title Sheet for the above referred to project was being presented at this <br />time for execution. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the <br />above referred to Title Sheet was approved and signed. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the following traffic <br />control devices were approved: <br />New Installation - Stop Sign <br />Villa Court/Meadow Stream <br />"T" Intersection <br />New Installation - Stop Sign <br />Wheatley Drive/Meadow <br />"T" Intersection <br />Stream <br />New Installation - Handicap <br />1630 Magnolia <br />Mrs. Kereszets has met all <br />Sign <br />requirements <br />APPROVE AND/OR RELEASE CONTRACTOR AND EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following <br />Contractors and Excavation Bonds be approved and/or released as follows: <br />OCCUPANCY BOND <br />Harmon Contract W.S.A., Inc. <br />EXCAVATION BOND <br />Robert Dunnuck <br />Released Effective October 5, 1998 <br />Approved Effective October 2, 1998 <br />Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bonds be approved <br />and/or released as outlined above. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the following Certificate <br />of Insurance was accepted for filing: <br />Majority Builders, Inc. <br />RMS Land Development Company, LLP a.k.a. <br />62900 U.S. 31 South <br />South Bend, Indiana 46614 <br />FILING OF APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, an Application for a <br />Certificate of Public Convenience, as submitted by Mr. William O'Brien, Shamrock Cab Company, <br />was filed. <br />
