<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Mr. Steven Michael, 205 Wakewa, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block
<br />party, on August 15, 1998, on Wakewa from Hillcrest to Lafayette. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Powell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell znd carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been, received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to, a request as submitted
<br />by Ms. Cheryl Kovas, 220 South Hawthorne, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to
<br />block party, on August 29, 1998, on Hawthorne from Jefferson to Washington. Upon a motion made
<br />by Mr. Powell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Ms. Clarice Reynolds, 2918 MacArthur, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to
<br />block party, on August 1, 1998, on MacArthur from Victory to entrance of Brenden Wood
<br />Apartments. Upon a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted -
<br />by Ms. Patti McCourt, 1512 East Madison, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to
<br />block party, on August 9, 1998, on East Madison from Twyckenham to Esther. Upon a motion made
<br />by Mr. Powell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by the Near Northwest Neighborhood, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block
<br />party, on August 8, 1998, on California from Portage to Demaude. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Powell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT WALKS
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Corporal Ken Ryan, South Bend Police Department to conduct the above referred to walks, on
<br />August 4, 1998, at the South East Side Partnership Center at 626 East Broadway, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, and at El Buen Vencino, 404 South Walnut, on the designated routes as submitted. Upon
<br />a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the recommendation was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF LICENSE APPLICATION FOR OPEN AIR STAND
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the following license application has been received:

<br />Mr. Caldwell further advised that favorable recommendations have been received from the Police
<br />Department, Department of Code Enforcement, and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for the above
<br />application. Additionally provided with the application was a letter of permission from the property
<br />owner. Upon a motion made by Mr. Powell seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the above license
<br />application was recommended for approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office.
