1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 20, 1998 <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BLOCK PARTY <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />by Ms. Stephanie Hilllman, 439 South Illinois, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to <br />block party, on August 15, 1998, on Illinois from Western to Huron. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BLOCK PARTY <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />by Ms. Carolyn Biggs, 1717 Georgian Drive, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to <br />block party, on August 8, 1998, on Georgian from Cape Cod to Georgian Court. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT HEART ASSOCIATION HEART <br />WALK <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a <br />request as submitted by Mr. Martin Gersey, Indiana University at South Bend, South Bend, Indiana <br />to conduct the above referred to walk, on September 19, 1998, on the designated route as submitted. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation <br />was approved. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - OPEN AIR STAND <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the following license application has been received: <br />NAME: <br />ADDRESS: <br />STAND TO LOCATED AT <br />DATES: <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF: <br />Roy H. Davis <br />10645 Jefferson Road <br />736 Lincolnway West <br />10:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. daily <br />Sale of hot dogs, chips, and pop <br />Mr. Caldwell further advised that favorable recommendations have been received from the Police <br />Department, Department of Code Enforcement, and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for the above <br />application. Additionally provided with the application was a letter of permission from the property <br />owner. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the above license <br />application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance. <br />APPROVAL OF SIDEWALK SALE PERMIT <br />Mr. Caldwell indicated that the Board is in receipt of the following Sidewalk Sale Permit application: <br />1. APPLICANT: Taguiria Chicago <br />BUSINESS ADDRESS: 2920 West Western <br />To place tables and chairs in right of way <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received from the Fire Department, <br />Engineering Department, Building Department, Legal Department, Design Review and the Police <br />Department. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that this application be approved. Mr. Powell seconded <br />the motion which carried. <br />DENY SIDEWALK SALE PERMIT APPLICATION <br />Mr. Caldwell indicated that the Board is in receipt of the following Sidewalk Sale Permit application: <br />1. APPLICANT: Shar's Salad Shoppe <br />BUSINESS ADDRESS: 212 South Michigan <br />To place tables and chairs in right of way for <br />seating <br />
