0287 <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 6, 1998 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works of the City of <br />South Bend that the fire helmet worn by this Firefighter is no longer needed by the City and unfit for <br />the purpose for which it was intended and has an estimated fair market value of less than One <br />Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said property be disposed of in accordance with <br />Ordinance 8570-95 and removed from the City inventory. <br />Adopted this.6th day of June, 1998. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/James R. Jacob, Clerk <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - NORTHEAST <br />NEIGHBORHOOD - BISSELL/CHALFANT DRAINAGE - PROJECT NO. 98-46 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Deb Martin, Engineering, requested permission to advertise for <br />the sale of bids for the above referred to project. Ms. Martin stated that this project will construct <br />public works improvements in the Northeast Neighborhood. Funding is provided by the CDBG <br />funds. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the <br />request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BLOCK PARTY <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Code Enforcement, Police. Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to <br />a request as submitted by Mr. Bill Borders, 946 Roosevelt, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above <br />referred to block parry, on July 11; 1998, on Roosevelt from Cushing to Inglewood. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the following traffic <br />control devices were approved -.- <br />New Installation - Handicap <br />531 North Scott <br />Ms. Tolbert has met all <br />Sign <br />requirements <br />Removal - Handicap Signs <br />1229 Goodland <br />Signs no longer needed <br />New Installation - Handicap <br />850 South Gladstone <br />Ms. Salt has met all <br />Sign <br />requirements <br />New Installation - Handicap <br />1705 South Scott <br />Ms. Kovach has met all <br />Sign <br />requirements <br />New Installation - Handicap <br />1805 Werwinski <br />Ms. Gorog has met all <br />Sign <br />requirement <br />New Installation - Handicap <br />526 South Falcon <br />Mr. Gunn has met all <br />Sign <br />requirements <br />New Installation - Handicap <br />1725 South Walnut <br />Mr. Price has met all <br />Sign <br />requirements <br />1 <br />
