<br />APPROVAL OF LICENSE APPLICATIONS RUBBISH AND GARBAGE REMOVAL
<br />SERVICE
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations from the Department
<br />of Code Enforcement for License Application for Rubbish and Garbage Removal Service for the
<br />following businesses. Mr. Caldwell noted that the Bureau of Sanitation has inspected the vehicle(s)
<br />to be used in conjunction with these businesses, and has approved them.

<br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the License Applications
<br />were approved.
<br />TABLE RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT WEST SIDE MEMORIAL COMMITTEE
<br />PARADE
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation
<br />was tabled.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE. STREET - SOUL CITY HOUSE OF GOD
<br />OUTREACH
<br />Mr. Caldwellstated that favorable recommendations- have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Pastor Wonie Johnson, 211 South•Michigan, South Bend, Indiana to close O'Brien Street from
<br />Linden to Orange,. on Saturday, April 11, 1998, from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., to conduct the Soul
<br />City House of God Outreach. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and
<br />carried, the recommendation was approved:
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY -
<br />BRICK PILLARS
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Building Commissioner, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference
<br />to a request as submitted by Mr. Stanley Molenda; Park Avenue Neighborhood Association, to
<br />construct eight (8) brick pillars at the entrances of the Park Avenue Neighborhood, as submitted.
<br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT PARADES - RIVER PARK DAY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable" recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a
<br />request as submitted by Pastor Warren Banks, River Park Business Association, 2406 Mishawaka
<br />Avenue, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to parade, on Saturday, June 13, 1998,
<br />beginning at 10:00 a.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell,
<br />seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT PARADE - MAURICE MATTHYS
<br />CHET WAGGONER AND NORTHWEST LITTLE LEAGUES
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a
<br />request as submitted by Mr. Carl Littrell, Division of Engineering to conduct the above referred to
<br />parades on Saturday, May 2, 1998, on the designated routes as submitted. Upon a motion made by
<br />Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO. ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS -- LIGHT BULBS
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. George Zana, Purchasing, requested permission to advertise for
<br />the receipt of bids for the above referred to items. Mr. Zana stated that funding will come from each
<br />department's fund.. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and
<br />carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved.
