1 2 5 <br />REGULAR MEETING APRIL 6, 1998 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:32 a.m. on Monday, April 6, <br />1998, by Board President James R. Caldwell, with Mr. Carl P. Littrell and Ms. M. Catherine Roemer <br />present. Also present was Board Attorney Michelle Engel. <br />AGENDA ITEMS STRICKEN/ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, Resolutions No. 37-1998 <br />and 38-1998 were added to the agenda; and Item 5A, Change Order, was stricken from the agenda. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the minutes of the regular <br />meeting of the Board held on March 30, 1998, were approved. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - APPLICATION FOR TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - FIESTAS <br />MICHIANAS 1998 <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning a License <br />Application for a Transient Merchant License, as submitted by Ms. Liliana Silvestry, 1628 Enchanted <br />Forest, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct Fiestas Michianas 1998 at Howard Park on Saturday, <br />August 29, 1998. Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the <br />Police Department, Fire Department, Building Commissioner and the City Attorney's Office. <br />Ms. Liliana Silvestry, 1628 Enchanted Forest, South Bend, Indiana, was present, and recommended <br />approval. Ms. Silvestry noted that this was the fifth year of the fiesta, and the location had been <br />changed to Howard Park. There being no one else present wishing to address the Board concerning <br />this matter, the Public Hearing was closed. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the <br />Application for a Transient Merchant was approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - LEIGHTON PLAZA PHASE II - WATERPROOFING BID PACKAGE 2- <br />07.10 - PROJECT NO. 97-57-6 <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient.
