wit-eir-C <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 23, 1998 <br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT -EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES - SPECIAL EVENTS - <br />UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME <br />Mr. Littrell stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend and <br />the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana, for Advanced and Basic Life Support services <br />to participants, spectators and related staff personnel during special events at the University of Notre <br />Dame. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the <br />Agreement was approved and executed. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREETS - 1998 ETHNIC FESTIVAL <br />Mr. Littrell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, <br />Code Enforcement, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as <br />submitted by Ms. Paul Garis, Park Department, to close various streets, as submitted, in conjunction <br />with the 1999 Ethnic Festival, to be held on June 19, 20 and 21, 1998, in Howard park and the East <br />Race Area. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the <br />recommendation was approved and executed. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BLOCK PARTY <br />Mr. Littrell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, <br />Code Enforcement, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as <br />submitted by Jimmie and Darlene Herron, 2001 Prast, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above <br />referred to block party, on Saturday, April 4, 1998, from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., on Prast from <br />Johnson to O'Brien. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the <br />recommendation was approved and executed. <br />DENY LICENSE APPLICATION - SECOND HAND DEALER <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the following secondhand dealers license application has been received: <br />Patrick <br />Jefferson Street Booksellers <br />501 West Jefferson <br />Old, used, and rare <br />Doyle <br />books. <br />Mr. Littrell further advised that unfavorable recommendations have been received from the Building <br />Department concerning the above application. The Building Department has stated that the existing <br />building does not meet current building codes for a commercial operation, and recommends the <br />application be denied. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, <br />the above license application was denied. <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 33-1998 - DISPOSAL OF CITY OWNED PROPERTY <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the following Resolution <br />was adopted by the Board of Public Works: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 33-1998 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />ON DISPOSAL OF UNFIT AND/OR OBSOLETE PROPERTY <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works that the following property is <br />unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and is no longer needed by the City of South Bend: <br />ONE (1) 1986 BOSHUNG PONY PRIME DP40AUS, VIN #5161293 <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6(c) permits and establishes procedure for disposal of <br />personal property which is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and which is no longer <br />needed by the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South <br />Bend that the item listed above is no longer needed by the City; is unfit for the purpose for which it <br />was intended and has an estimated value of less than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00). <br />
