1 O 6 <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 23, 1998 <br />OPENING OF BIDS SALE OF SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to equipment. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South. Bend Tribune and the Tri-County <br />News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />MONGO VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Post Office Box 44 <br />Mongo, Indiana 46771 <br />1B <br />Ten (10) complete SCBA's (30 minute) $563.70 <br />Ten (10) SCBA.bottles $233.90 <br />Surviviar Bench Flow Tester $ 77.00 <br />Repair Parts $ 51.76 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the above bid was <br />referred to the Fire Department for review and recommendation. <br />AWARD OUOTATION - MICHIGAN STREET SEWER REPLACEMENT -_ PROJECT NO. 98- <br />33 <br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, advised the Board that on March 9, 1998, bids <br />were received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Littrell <br />recommends that the Board award the contract to Underground Services, 225 South Lafayette, South <br />Bend, Indiana the amount of $42,115.10. The Bureau of Sewers has appropriated funds from the <br />Sewer Rehabilitation funds. Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a motion that the recommendation be <br />accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD OUOTATION - STRUCTURE REMOVAL - 1929 AND 2313 SOUTH IRONWOOD - <br />PROJECT NO. 98-35 <br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, advised the Board that on March 16, 1998, <br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />Littrell recommends that the Board award the contract to Warner and Sons, Inc., Post Office Box <br />87, Elkhart, Indiana in the amount of $8,400.00. Therefore, Ms. Roemer made a motion that the <br />recommendation be accepted and the bids be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />AWARD BIDS - MISCELLANEOUS VEHICLES <br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, advised the Board that on March 2, 1998, bids <br />were received and opened for the above referred to vehicles.
