REGULAR MEETING MARCH 16, 1998 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:38 a.m. on Monday, March 16, <br />1998, by Board President James R Caldwell, with Mr. Carl P. Littrell and Ms. M. Catherine Roemer <br />present. Also present was Board Attorney Michelle Engel. <br />AGENDA ITEMS ADDED/STRICKEN <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, a Construction Contract <br />for the Morris Civic Asbestos Abatement was added, and a Construction Contract for Leighton Plaza <br />was stricken from the agenda. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the minutes of the regular <br />meeting of the Board held on March 9,1998, were approved. <br />PUBLIC HEARING TABLED - APPLICATION FOR TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - <br />VILLAGE WEST ENTERPRISES, INC. <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning an <br />Application for a Transient Merchant License, as submitted by Ms. Rita Stansu, 8180 North 150 <br />West, Lake Village, Indiana, to conduct the sale of rifles, shotguns and pistols at Union Station on <br />April 4 and 5 and November 7 and 8, 1998. Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations <br />were received from the Building Department, Police Department, Fire Department and the Legal <br />Department. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the <br />Application for a Transient Merchant License was tabled, as a representative for the event was not <br />present. <br />OPENING OF QUOTATIONS - STRUCTURE REMOVAL -1829 & 2313 SOUTH IRONWOOD <br />- PROJECT NO. 98-35 <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that this was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed Quotations <br />for the above referred to project. The following Quotations were opened and read: <br />BRADBERRY BROTHERS, INC. <br />20061 West Dice Street <br />South Bend, Indiana 46614 <br />Quotation was submitted by Mr. W. J. Bradberry <br />QUOTATION: $10,833.00 <br />B&J EXCAVATION, INC. <br />1104 West Donald Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Quotation was submitted by Mr. Julius O'Neil <br />QUOTATION: $13,230.00 <br />LAFREE EARTH INC. <br />Post Office Box 1752 <br />Mishawaka, Indiana 46546 <br />Quotation was submitted by Mr. Greg LGFree <br />QUOTATION: $13,856.00 <br />TOROK EXCAVATING AND DEMOLITION <br />54195 North Burdette Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />
