REGULAR MEETING MARCH 9, 1998 <br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT - ACQUISITION, OPERATION AND FISCAL OVERSIGHT - <br />NEIGHBORHOOD RESOURCES AND TECHNICAL SERVICES CORPORATION <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend and <br />the Neighborhood Resources and Technical Services Corporation, for the conveyance of funds to <br />NRTSC, who in turn contracts with each Partnership Center in the City. Therefore, upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Agreement was approved and <br />executed. <br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT - SERVICE MAINTENANCE <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend and <br />Rohan Service Agency of South Bend, Inc., 929 Lincolnway East, South Bend, Indiana, for <br />professional and technical services for the heating and air conditioning system in the administration <br />building at Division of Environmental Services. Mr. Caldwell noted that the Agreement is in the <br />amount of $1,580.00 per year. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. <br />Caldwell and carried, the Agreement was approved and executed. <br />APPROVAL OF LICENSE APPLICATIONS - RUBBISH AND GARBAGE REMOVAL <br />SERVICES <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations from the Bureau of <br />Sanitation and the Department of Code Enforcement for a License Application for Rubbish and <br />Garbage Removal service for the following businesses: <br />Steven Graffenius <br />Best Way Disposal, Inc. <br />3290 Hennesey Road, Watervliet, <br />Michigan <br />Pete Buchanan <br />Pete Buchanan Rubbish Service <br />1210 Bissell Street, South Bend <br />Tommy Swinson <br />Tom Swinson Rubbish <br />1321 East Calvert, South Bend <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the License <br />Applications were approved. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - SECOND HAND DEALER <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the following secondhand dealers license application has been received: <br />Stephen Krupnik <br />Red's Pawn Shop <br />1072 Lincolnway <br />Unredeemed pledges <br />East <br />from pawn shop <br />Fred Romine <br />Indiana Furniture <br />742 West Indiana <br />Used Furniture <br />Ethel Anderson <br />Classic Boutique <br />1636 Lincolnway <br />Antiques; Used <br />West <br />furniture <br />Jerry Beatty <br />West End Trading <br />1222 Western <br />New and secondhand <br />Co. <br />Avenue <br />items <br />Mr. Caldwell further advised that favorable recommendations have been received from the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting, Department of Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire Department <br />concerning the above application. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer <br />and carried, the above license applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's <br />Office for issuance of a license. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO USE CITY FACILITIES AS VOTING PLACES FOR THE MAY <br />AND NOVEMBER ELECTIONS, 1998 <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the following city <br />facilities were approved to use as voting places in the May and November elections, 1998: <br />1 <br />Pj <br />
