REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 13, 1999 OPENING OF BIDS - ONE (1) MORE OR LESS, BITUNIINOUS DISTRIBUTOR This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Southeastern Equipment Co., Inc. 3333 West Coliseum Boulevard Fort Wayne, Indiana 46808 Bid was signed by Mr. Mason D. Stearns Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted BID: $53,900.00 MacDonald Machinery Co., Inc. 3911 Limestone Drive Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809 Bid was signed by Mr. Don L. Finn Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed Five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted BID: $44,880.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the above bids were referred to Central Services for review and recommendation. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Gates Chevy World 401 South Lafayette South Bend, Indiana Bid was signed by Mr. Dave Holland Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted BID: $20,310.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the above bids were referred to Central Services for review and recommendation. AWARD BID - LONGFELLOW SOUTH & TWYCKENHAM INTERSECTION - TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES - PROJECT NO. 99-65 Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, advised the Board that on September 7, 1999, bids were received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Littrell recommends that the Board award the contract to L.L. Geans Construction Company, 1923 North Home, Mishawaka, Indiana the amount of $32,571.00. Therefore, Mr. Powell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried. 1 1
