<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - LAPORTE FROM
<br />WASHINGTON TO COLFAX - NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by, the Division of
<br />Engineering and the Police Department, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Paul Hayden,
<br />914 Lincolnway West, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block party, on
<br />September 11, 1999, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded
<br />by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY -
<br />ANNUAL GIFT OF WARMTH SIDEWALK SALE - NIPSCO
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division. of
<br />Engineering and the Police Department, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Kevin Lucy;,
<br />NIPSCO, 307 North Michigan, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to sidewalk sale
<br />in front of 307 North Michigan, on September 10, 1999, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT PARADE - INDIANA PRICE HALL
<br />GRAND LODGE
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Park Department and the Police Department, in reference to a request as submitted by
<br />Mr. Donnie Johnson, 51788 Gatehouse Drive, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred
<br />to parade, on September 12, 1999, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., on the designated route as
<br />submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CHANGE PARKING RESTRICTIONS - 1102
<br />EAST LASALLE - HIGH HOLY DAYS
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering and the Police Department, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Lina Mintz,
<br />Sinai Synagogue,1102 East LaSalle, South Bend, Indiana to change parking restrictions in the 1100
<br />block of East LaSalle, in conjunction with High Holy Days, on September 11, 12, 19 and 20, 1999.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation
<br />was approved.
<br />DENY REQUEST - TO CLOSE STREET - WAYNE STREET FROM ST. JOSEPH TO
<br />MICHIGAN - FINNIGANS
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that unfavorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering and the Police Department, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Julius Cheny,
<br />Finnigans Irish Pub, 113 East Wayne Street, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to
<br />hog roast, on September 17, 1999. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer
<br />and carried, the request was denied.
<br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the following traffic
<br />control devices were approved:
