<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION- TO CONDUCT UNITED RELIGIOUS COMMUNITY
<br />CROP WALK
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Park Department, and the Police Department, in reference to a request as submitted by
<br />Mr. James Fisko, United Religious Community, 2015 Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana to
<br />conduct the above referred to walk, on October 24, 1999, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., on the
<br />designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and
<br />carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE ALTGELD FROM CARROLL TO ST.
<br />JOSEPH - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering and the Police Department in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Tony Tyler, 225
<br />Altgeld, South Bend,. Indiana to conduct the above referred to block party, on August 21, 1999, from
<br />11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and
<br />carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE' VAN BUREN FROM RUSH TO
<br />COTTAGE GROVE BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering and the Police Department in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. 011ie Turner,
<br />203 N. Summit Drive, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block party, on August
<br />14, 1999, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Mr.
<br />Caldwell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - GARBAGE AND RUBBISH SERVICE
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the following Garbage and Rubbish Service application has been received:
<br />NAME: Timothy Hancz, ALT Truck Inc.
<br />ADDRESS: 16135 Chandler, Mishawaka, Indiana
<br />Mr. Caldwell further advised that a favorable recommendation has been received by the Department
<br />of Code Enforcement concerning this application. Further, the Bureau of Sanitation has inspected
<br />the vehicle(s) to be used in conjunction with this business, and has found them to be satisfactory.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the above license
<br />application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance of a license.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BERTRAND FROM MEADE
<br />TO FREMONT
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering and the Police Department, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Joanna James,
<br />2526 Bertrand, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block party, on August 6,
<br />1999. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS ONE (1) MORE
<br />OR LESS. PRISONER TRANSPORT VAN
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Central Services, requested
<br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to vehicle. Mr. Chlebowski
<br />stated that funding for this unit will be provided by a Department of Justice Block Grant. Therefore,
<br />upon a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the request to advertise
<br />for the receipt of bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS CLEVELAND
<br />ROAD WIDENING - BENDIX TO 150' EAST OF MEGHAN BEEHLER DRIVE- PROJECT NO.

<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl Littrell; City Engineer, requested permission to advertise
