C <br />1 <br />1 <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 2. 1999 <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C. 36-8-13-3, the Board ofDirectors of Workforce Development <br />Services (the Directors) approve the purchase of all equipment for Workforce Development Services; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend is the owner of certain personal property described as <br />follows: <br />One (1) 1991 Chevy Cavalier, Serial No. 1G1JC54G7M7255153 <br />WHEREAS, the Board has determined that such equipment is no longer needed for the <br />operation of Equipment Services of the City of South Bend and desires to transfer said equipment <br />to Workforce Development Services; and <br />WHEREAS, the Directors are interested in obtaining said equipment for Workforce <br />Development Services; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C. 36-1-11-8, governmental entities may exchange property with <br />one another upon terms and conditions agreed upon by the two entities as evidenced by the adoption <br />of substantially identical resolutions by each entity. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board ofPublic Works ofthe City of South <br />Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br />1) That the transfer of one (1) 1991 Chevy Cavalier Serial No. 1G1JC54G7M7255153 <br />described above to Workforce Development Services shall be, and hereby is, <br />approved. <br />2) That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its adoption. <br />ADOPTED this 2' day of August, 1999. <br />ATTEST: <br />s/Angela K. Powell, Member <br />ADOPT RESOLUTIONNO. 34-1999- CONTRACTS FOREMERGENCYTOWINGFROMTHE <br />PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the following Resolution <br />was adopted by the Board of Public Works: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 34-1999 <br />RESOLUTION CONCERNING CONTRACTS FOR EMERGENCY TOWING FROM THE <br />PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY <br />WHEREAS, the public welfare and safety of residents of the City of South Bend require that <br />public streets and alleys be kept free of abandoned or illegal vehicles; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend has the power under I.C. 9-13-2-1 et seq. to remove <br />abandoned vehicles from it's streets and alleys; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY the Board ofPublic Works for the City of South <br />Bend that the Police Chief of the City of South Bend be, and hereby is, designated as the agent of the <br />Board for the limited purpose of entering into, and is authorized to enter into contracts with individual <br />contractors for removal of illegal or abandoned vehicles from the pubic streets and alleys within the <br />City of South Bend. <br />
